Hey,

Excuse me if this has been answered/addressed/found on card statement, but has anyone been able to lower their APR on any store cards specifically Wal-Mart? I've read many links stating Discover is great at reducing APR and Chase sucks, but I have not been able to locate info. regarding store cards. Are all their interest rates fixed or something? Thanks for any info.

Walmart does not offer lower rates... very few store cards have tiers similar to major bank cards that can be lowered (Nordstrom comes to mind as one of the best store cards that has tiers for APR that can be pretty good especially for store cards

AFAIK, and as others have said, almost no store cards offer tiered APRs or any APR you would want to use. Most have very high ones (20+%) regardless of your FICO or other credit factors.

They do this for a reason. Many stores offer special promotions that you can only get if you use their cards. In turn, their goal is for you to carry a balance so they can recoup that 'savings' back with their rediculous rates. If they offered low APRs and high discounts, it wouldn't be in their best interest.

GECRB issues the card. If it's not the Discover version there's only 1 APR for the store version.
