True Value Discover Card?

AFAIK, it's not one you can get thru the "Shopping Cart Trick," but I'm not sure much else about it.

The True Value Discover is issued by Comenity, but there's no "shopping cart" trick to it, and most likely will result in a HP.

I looked at it, but chose to stick with the Discover-backed Discover I already had.

I doubt Discover would care about the Comenity-issued Discover... but Comenity may have lower requirements.

I was approved instant online last week. Although since I haven't gotten so much as an email much less my card I'm starting to think I imagined it but no the screen say congratulations and told me I had a $500 limit.

Comenity can be very slow processing apps. Have you tried setting up an account?

Yes and that's what has my slightly concerned because of course I have to choose the option that I don't have my card # yet & I put in all my information and it says it can't find me. Guess I'll keep patiently waiting. I was just so shocked to be approved as all I've had for the last 5 years is a couple secured cards.

You could always call Comenity, but if it said approved, then it's just a matter of waiting.

As for secured cards, I know back in the 90s I kept a couple of them open for the payment activity, but also because I'd deposited $5k, and I had occasionally large purchases.

In today's environment, unless it's a secured card from a major prime issuer (Chase, Citi, BoA, CapOne) , I'd want to be out of there ASAP. Credit One and First Premier are two that come to mind that I would want to stop the bloodletting that their fees are hard to justify.

I'm going to try to be patient (very hard for me), but I know I didn't imagine the approval because otherwise I wouldn't have known about the $500 limit. It's just that GE is so fast I was approved for 2 with them in the same time period and they are both already reporting on my reports.

I applied and was approved with HP for $3k. Once I got the card, and setup my online account, I hit the CLI button (SP) until it stopped me (at $20k)!!!!

Sorry for the year old bump, but I was researching the True Value card and this is just insane.... $3k to $20k immediately!

Is this card harder to get than Orbitz? Comenity denied me for inq, but the score on my letter was 958 out of 999 for Orbitz app.

I got orbitz but denied true value... I didn't apply back to back but I have applied 2 for true value! denied both times!

Yeah, this is an oldie... I have it but in all honesty they fall along the same lines with being inquiry sensitive like their other co-branded CCs... I was instantly approved with a $6,000 SL last year and they just CLI to $9,000 a couple weeks ago. They pulled EX for me.

JCB caps out at like 5 INQ within 6 months.

And, I can't get JCB since I'm not in their lending footprint. I wonder if you can mail an app and be considered for it? Or, are they pretty much geographically restricted?

Geographically restricted I do believe

and EX

and despite that its a paper app it still goes through a computer system for approval (to be fair) from the conversartion I had with a credit lady there... I have her number when I was ready again (or partner) but she couldn't do anything about the INQ's!
