Executive AAdvantage World Mastercard offer (100k now showing)

There is an offer out now for this card where if you meet the initial spend of $7,500 in three months you earn 75k AAdvanatge miles and up to $100 in statement credits. The card has an AF of $450 but offers membership in the admirals club which is valued at $475. Can earn an extra 10k miles with 40k spend. Obviouslly not a card for someone who does not fly american often, but for frequent fliers on american who can meet the initial spend this offer rocks.

On several sites / blogs, some people were able to find a "workaround" for an even better offer.

Apply for the 60k offer with 5k spend first.
Get approved.
Call citi and tell them you just saw the 75k offer.
Most were able to get upgraded to the 75k offer for additional 1.5k spend, thus making it 75k miles for 6.5k spend.

For those who have difficulty meeting minimum spend and don't want to resort to manufactured spending, this is one way to do it.

Yes I saw that too, but I figure its not guaranteed that citi will do that every single time.

It's not guaranteed, but so far so good I suppose. Seeing that its a 400+ AF card, customer service reps are generally more willing to bend over to cater to their clients.

75k offer put me on the fence, I would definitely go for the 100k deal if I could find a link.

It sounds fairly YMMV if this card applies to the normal Citi AA rule for spacing apps 18-24 months.

I'm looking to get this card however I just got the AA Platinum with 50k offer and only got a credit line of 1k which is the minimum exactly one month ago.

Credit score of

Barclays To 1/12/14 689
Experian from citi 12/16/13 701
Credit secure 1/20/14 731 740 740

Any chance?

Total of around 30k cl with other banks.

Just read 1 report of Citi CSR upping 60k to 100k after the cardholder requested it (and also that they have been taking a lot of call volume for similar requests).

I wonder if approval chances are any different if you got one of the email offers?

Report where? I'm a bit skeptical since the 75k offer is already 15k more than their normal offer and as far as I know is their highest offer in a long time. There is a $100 statement credit in addition to the miles though.

Go for it! Even the 75k offer includes $100 back, then ask Citi to match 100k offer when you receive the card!

The number of people I have seen getting the 100k offer is slim. Apparently there is a targetted offer out there of 100k miles for 10k spend in three months on top of the AF. However, I have only seen one person saying they got CSR to give them the 100k bonus (who knows if this is even true its just what someone claims) and I have seen others denied when they called CSR. Therefore I would not count on it at all. Given the high AF and high initial spend the card does not seem to be of much value unless you are looking for the lounge membership. For people who are inclined to buy the lounge membership then this seems like a good card to jump on. It may be a good way to make up for the amex plat losing lounges if you fly american.

don't forget, this card will give you 10k elite qualifying miles if you spend 40k on it. it's a really great bonus, especially for people who use AA a lot, or think they will be a bit short to reach the next tier.

i haven't heard much about the 100k offer.

Yep it may be worth it if you need the bump to get to the next elite level, but then again if you are flying enough to get status it would probably be worth it for the lounge status. Definitely would be something I would consider if I was a frequent AA person.

Approved $8.3k limit. They asked if I wanted more but I didn't want to risk another HP. CSR confirmed it was $100 statement credit and 75k miles with $7500 spend.

Apparently you can get the 100k miles for 10k spend in three months. You also get up to $200 statement credit. Some people who had prior offer for 75k tried to call in and to get this new offer and were told they had to reapply. Ymmv. I'm in the garden and swinging 10k spend in three months is not something I am willing to do, especially since my understanding that citi can be kind of difficult with MS at times. For those who are interested in this card and can afford the initial spend then this is probably the time to move on it, since it is doubtful the offer will go higher.
