US Bank travle flex perks

I currently have a US Bank platinum card and decided to see if I could PC it to a rewards card. I called them and while she said I was eligible for a PC to the Travel Flex Perks card but I couldn't get the 20,000 bonus points, but she said I could apply online and would more than likely be approved and get the bonus points. I applied online and the screen said I was instantly approved for NPSL, but that they would show a revolving $16,200 on my report. Then I got an email that said they were reviewing my app and it would take 7-10 days. So, was I approved or am I still pending. I have excellent credit scores, all are above 750, and bank with US Bank. Thanks!

It's very common to be pseudo approved with US Bank and the app then go pending. They are one of the few that manually reviews every app. I feel sure you're approved but it'll take a few days to get 'real' confirmation. I would call tomorrow to see if everything is finalized. I will go ahead and say....congrats on your approval.

Thank you so much. It was just really confusing. I am excited about getting the rewards. I know that there are other cards that have what some think are better rewards, but I really like dealing with just one bank for all of my stuff.

I have banked with US Bank for about 13.5 years and, I agree, they are confusing sometimes. I do feel like it's one of the best banks out there, though. I don't have a CC with them yet but recently inquired about refinancing my car with a local banker and she looked up my bank account and told me I was preapproved for a Cash+ card and this was one week after an app spree of an AMEX, Citi and HNB Voice card. She told me when they do the TU pull for the car, they could issue me the Cash+ with the same HP. Only if I knew about that card before the app spree. I'm still burning up inside thinking about it but a car refi and another new card would crush my AAoA. As for the FlexPerks, it's not a bad card. I used to earn really good rewards with US Bank just using my debit Visa and cashed it in every Nov/Dec. I guess they got tired of giving money away and did away with that program like 3 years ago. Now, they are taking away the checking account advances at the beginning of May. No biggie because I never used it but I'll admit, it was nice to have in case of an emergency.

I know it's hard but I think you'll know specifics by Friday. I'd call them tomorrow and if they can't tell you specifics, I'd call back Friday. Please report back with your results when you know. Good luck, although I don't think you need it.

Thanks! Like I said, I have a good score, no bad marks on my report, my report has a 12 year history. And since they gave me the specifics, I would think I would have it. But it is always nice to have someone elses opinion.

So I called the application status number today and it said they were unable to retrieve my application information. I have read on here that they like to have an actual human review each application. Is that true? Why wouldn't they be able to retrieve my application?

US Bank possibly has the screwiest application process of anyone. They dangle an "instant approval" when it's really just a computer generated recommendation to an underwriter, who will take anywhere from a few days to a few weeks to decide if it's approved, denied, or approved for a lower limit. Why the heck don't they just put every application to "pending" rather than get your hopes up??? Their app status never seems to be talking to the other hand either. I hope you get it though, this is a nice card with good bonus. Goodluck!

So I talked to someone at US Bank today and I was approved. She said there was a glitch somewhere in the system. I was also eligible to upgrade to the Platinum checking account, but because I did that the day after I was approved for the card, I wouldn't be able to get the second year fee free. So they gave me an additional 10000 points! Needless to say, I am super happy with them.

Thank you! Really very happy. I know others have said that they have had a hard time with US Bank, but we have been with them for the last ten years and they have always been very helpful.
