Questions about being an AU

So i was wondering if i add some to Discover as an AU and then remove them after it reports to their report will they still keep the history for 7 years?

Also i noticed Discover doesnt need a SSN for adding an AU, just a name, how does it report to the AU credit report?

I believe it won't continue to report but I'm not certain. It's been my experience that it doesn't.

I believe by address & other means. However they do it they get it done. My AU is reported on his & after my brother added me it's on my report. (Both Discover cards)

Alright, but if the addresses are the same but the name is all correct will it still report? Say i put my address down but their name, will it still report for them?

Because isnt the address just where they are going to send the card?

It will remain as long as the TL isn't disputed through the CRAs. Keep in mind the data will not update.

Each CRA has their own internal factors when matching AU TLs without a SSN. Last name, address are the main factors.

Are the last names the same? Are the addresses the same?

No different last name, of which first and last name are entered correctly, but was told that the address would have to be my address. The AU does not live with me.

Yes that's just the address to where they send the card. Me & my brother don't live together & have different last names. I had to get my card from him. It still reports.

Each card issuer might be different. I was previously a AU on a Citi card once removed it's no longer on my report. The account isn't listed period. I'm still on my brothers account (DS) so don't really know about that.

The AU has a credit file already reporting his/her address; correct?

@Lexie - I think so. Im not completly sure. However i did chat with Discover and they say it should report, the reason for the address needs to be mine is because im the Primary account holder.

I think you are missing my point. I'm aware that the cc has to be sent to you as the primary and Discover will report the card. My point, is simple will the data be enough for each CRAs to match your account number with an AU with a different last name and address.

For example, assuming your name is Jane Doe, residing at 1111 Main St. Your AU is Billy Smith at 5111 Anywhere Lane. Will the CRAs know that your Discover account should be matched with Billy's credit file?

You probably will be fine. Those that have reported issues with the data matching had non matching factors.

Iwould not suggest changing addresses.
