I think as long as you have it in dispute immediately you'll be fine. If they do CLD you -- you just call them and explain what has gone down. (I don't think your calling them will actually prevent that from happening.)

A fraudulent collection was placed on my account and I'm trying to get it off. I know some people have reported CLD or even the canceling of cards when your credit profile changes. This would be my only negative and it dropped my TU CS from ~750 to 640. There were similar drops on the other bureaus. I have never been late on any CC payment ever and I have multiple 5 digit CCs. Is there a good chance they'd give me a CLD or cancel some of my cards? Should I contact my CC issuers and let them know the situation just in case they try to do a CLD or close my card?

Thanks, I've frozen all three of my CRs and I have placed a fraud alert on them as well. Unfortunately the Dispute departments are closed so I have to wait until tomorrow to contact them for that. I also called Direct Tv (the original creditor) and I talked to a nice CSR who told me they would get it removed from my credit report. I tried to call the Collection agency as well but they were closed. I'm close to my Amex 3x 61 day CLI, but I won't be trying that until I get this cleared up.
