So I have 3 chase cards. Chase slate is my first and I got approved with a $300 limit then the next time I applied to chase it was for both freedom and sapphire, 2500 (auto cli to 3500 after 3 months of usage) and 11,000 respectively.

I called chase about a year ago to increase my slate and they only increased it 300...to 600, he already hard pulled and said it was the most he could do. My highest limit is 19,500 and I of course cant close the slate because it has a good average age.

Question is. Can I PC the card to something else in the future and keep the old aaoa or if I merge the cards (is that possible) can I transfer the sapphire or something over to slate.

Any ideas? It really makes me mad I have a card with $600 limit, its hardly worth using, only issuers that get my respect are Citi and AmEx. I do like the freedom though because when I had constant activity they gave me a quick auto cli.

Chase is usually very good about transferring limits, so if you want to move over some from the Sapphire to the Slate, they should be able to do that.

Not a chase underwriter so won't make predictions! On the down side, having more Chase cards with high limits also increases Chase's exposure to you, so in certain circumstances it would mitigate against CLIs. But no-one of me knowing if you are close to that point or not.

I had to call the EO to PC my Slate to a Freedom. Regular CSRs could not do it for the life of them (i had been trying for over a year).

You can easily move limits between different Chase cards without a HP. Any CLI request will be a HP though.

You mentioned that you didn't want to close the slate because of the age of the account. If you close it, it will still be calculated into your AAoA for 10 years. If you know that you will not be doing multiple app sprees in a year, then it really wouldnt be that big of a deal to close it.

You have about $15,000 of credit spread across three cards with the same lender. Possibly you are hitting your aggregate limit with Chase based on your known income. Chase likely would be wililng to move some CL from you Sapphire to the Slate, but I'm not sure how that benefits you unless you are looking to park a balance and the Slate has a lower APR. If you want to do it, and they are willing to permit it, then you can do it with a phone call.
