Fingerhut NO CLI

I have had my Fingerhut card since 2011 and the limit is 250 dollars. I am grateful that they extended me credit at that point in my life. However, I am annoyed they have not bothered to up the limit at any point. I asked for a CLI the other day and the lady said you should make a lot of purchases and see if you get a CLI down the road.

I think Im just going to sock drawer it again and focus on my other lines of credit. They are newer and are actually from places that I want to purchase items. Im going to have to use this Fingerhut card every now and then to keep them from closing it but using it every month will not happen. I cannot wait to get to prime lender status.

thats very odd for fingerhut. Ive had it around a year now and have gotten two credit line increases of 500 each time. I only used the card like 4 times maybe. I try to find the cheapest weirdest item lol.

Are you a part of the freshstart program or you just have a regular credit with them?

But I hae heard that you actually have to buy with them for them to give increases.

You best bet would be to let your accounts age and your score rise

I have the regular card. I have only made two purchases. It bugs me because there a those who had made few purchases and have much lower scores.

I started out with them in March 2013 at a $200 limit - a year and one moth later I am at $2000 credit with them with 3 increases since March 2013. I bought a coffee maker, paid it off, then got a CLI. Then I bought a toaster, paid it off, then got a CLI. Then I bought a cell phone, paid it off, and big CLI.

They definately love it when you use their website to buy something. When you make on time payments and/or pay it off, their system usually gives you a CLI. It's one of those lines of credit where if you use it, they will throw credit at you!

My advice, if you have better lines of credit at the moment, you've outgrown Fingerhut and you should just sock drawer it or close it down all together.

So far, I've bought two things from Fingerhut (ordered at different times), really some of the cheapest stuff I could find and have paid in full on both. No CLIs yet but I'll be patient.
