Purchasing Gift Cards at Lowes with Discover Card

Can anyone tell me if you get the 5% cash back currently being offered for Lowes purchases with your Discover card? Lowe's carries Disney gift cards and it is a great way to save for Disney Vacations and save a little cash. But I haven't done it yet and want to know if any of you have received the 5% cash back when purchasing a gift card there.

I got the points on my Chase freedom on Disney GC (~$800 worth) the rest I put on my discover (~$750). The statement hasn't cut yet, I'm assuming it's a yes.

And these were both for GC's from Lowes? On a Disney website, some said Discover only gave .25% on GC's and that just didn't seem correct to me. I would think you would get the 5%, 1% or nothing...but where they came up with that odd number...I am not sure.

I know target give 5% off using their Debit or charge card too and they carry Disney GC's too.

I dont see why not. As long as the purchase goes through as "Lowe's", you shoud get points for buying anything there.

I am still waiting for my statement to cut so, at this point, I cant answer that. If I do not get the full 5% then I will be calling Discover.

It will, I do it. I also purchase gift cards at my supermarket and use my wife's BCP and get 6% back too.

Thanks for confirming. I thought so, but someone on one of the Disney sites was saying it did not. My daughter will be buying some for her trip and I wanted to make sure she did get the full 5% or else we would look at getting her a target red card. Thanks!

I'd check the RedCard program rules. They state that the 5% off doesn't apply to "Target Gift Cards or Prepaid Cards," so that might include all GCs they sell.

All the Disney Geeks say the 5% is applied on the Disney Cards, so it must just exclude "Target" Gift cards.

Hey just wanted to confirm that I did recieve the 5% on the disney gift cards I purchased at Lowes last statement. Hope you can get in on the deal! Between Discover and Chase this period I have been able to pay off my Disney balance. Also got free dining as well!

Lowes has a WAY better selection. Disney, Southwest (loadable up to $500), several gas cards, tons of retail / resturants. I love this quarter...Ive maxed both Discover & Chase in the first month.
