I'm in the South too (SC). So, they'll probably pull the TU. I have a 568 with TU per TrueCredit so the true FICO is probably a little higher.

Thanks again.

I applied for the Jcpenney card around 8 months ago. At the time I was approved for 150$. After the six month period of perfect payment history they gave me a CLI of 1500.

My TU score was around 560. So far they have been good to me. Both Penneys and GEMB.

Good luck

Kartel34,
how much did you utilize of the $150? did you max it out and then pay it off over the 6 months or did you buy something small every month and pay it off before the due date?

Another way to beat the system. Is purchase a small item ( pair of socks, etc ).

Wait for the charge to hit the account , pay the bill then return the item. This way you establish a payment history and you will end up with a store credit . But dont loose the receipt ! Most stores give you a 30 grace period on returns. So thats plenty of time for the charge to show up.
