Greetings all!

I am new here and feel very lucky I found this place. I have been lurking for the past 2 weeks and there are some really good posters here and I have learned a lot already. Ok so my question is I would like to get a Discover It card, but I wanted to see what you guys thought my chances are. Here are some details. I got approved for a Kays card for $6,000 about 2 weeks ago and I also got approved for a Barclaycard Rewards MasterCard for $1,800 almost a week ago. I do have a First Prem. card for about a year now with only a $750 credit limit, but my eyes have been on the Discover IT card for some time now. Here are some scores that I pulled. Credit Karma (TU) 641 - Quzzlie (Equifax) 652 - Experian web site 671. TIA. for your reply and look forward to many years with you guys!!

All of those scores are FAKOs, but Discover has been known to take chances on new credit builders. I assume you don't have a major loan like a mortgage planned anytime soon, so I don't think it would be awful to use the inquriy and try for the card.

You can be more confident, though, if you pull a FICO score and compare with others who have similar profiles.

Thanks for the reply no plans for a new major loan right now. As far as the inquiries goes I have 0 on Experian, 2 on TU and 1 on Equifax so I don't think 1 hit would hurt, really not even sure who Discover uses but I can take a chance with 1 hit I guess.

Even if there is though, Discover I think is really forgiving of that. Great company. If you got the Barclays, I fully expect you to get the Discover.

Any thoughts and opinions would also be greatly appreciated.. Thank you!

I think you have a good shot at the discover. I don't see the purpose of going for a CU unless you have a need for an auto loan or just a card with a high CL. I think you'll be fine as long as you take care of your cards. Good luck.

Awesome! Thanks guys for the feedback.. Like I said I really want the Discover card, but I was wondering if it was easier to get a CU credit card with my score or maybe wait untill the end of the month and let Barclaycard Rewards card show up on my credit report. Thanks again guys for your thoughts.

How in the H$ll did I get approved for the Barclaycard Rewards MasterCard with a $1,800 limit with a score like that??? I was hoping it would have been higher after Experian web site showed me at 671 and Quizzle showed me at 652 and Credit Karma showed me at 641. This sux and really don't know what to do now. Thoughts?

Do you have any baddies on your report? The low score could also be due to high utilization, aaoa, inq, number of accounts, etc. Carefully review your report to see if you can figure out where your'e losing points from.
