Is it possible to request a CLI and not get a hard pull? If so, how is that done?

Thanks.

Depends on which bank. For example, Chase CLIs will always be a HP.

You can ask them in person if it is @ your local bank. They can let you know whether or not it will be a HP before actually putting in the inquiry.

A lot of creditors use HP's for customer initiated CLI's but there are certainly creditors that use SP's. I don't have a list off the top of my head but this is a very common topic. IIRC AmEx SP's. Take a look at the 3X CLI thread.

@DevotionToU wrote:

Depends on which bank. For example, Chase CLIs will always be a HP.

Depends on the CLI as well. My wife has had a couple of Chase auto CLI's with no HP.

@bobkmn wrote:

It is a local bank where its cards are run by Elan.

No idea. Ask them or try checking other threads:

https://www.google.com/search?q=elan+CLI+site%3Aficoforums.myfico.com&oq=elan+CLI+site%3Aficoforums.myfico.com&aqs=chrome..69i57.6392j0j7&sourceid=chrome&es_sm=122&ie=UTF-8
