AMEX cli rule

I applied for and recieved a 3x increase on my Blue Cash card about three months ago. I just tried a cli via online chat on my Costco business card and was declined because I recieved a cli on another card within the last six months. Does this now reset my clock to six months from today or can I try again three months from now? Shouldn't the CSR have been able to let me know my eligibility before I went through with my request? Anyway I am assuming that you can only apply for an increase every six months on one card only no matter how many cards you hold. Is this correct?

That is correct, one approved CLI every 6 months (180 days to be exact). if the CLI is denied you have to wait 90 days to try again.

You can only do a CLI on one card, so if you have multiple Amex cards, choose wisely

Yes I did and he told me to hang on and that he would check. He came back and asked me if I wanted to continue. Assuming that he had checked and I was eligible I went forward with the request.
