App for Discover IT?

I was just approved for the BarclayCard Arrival w/ no AF and am wondering should I app for the Discover IT card now or wait til I get my scores over 700? Thoughts?

What's your Equifax and TU scores? Those are the two bureaus they pull most often.

What's your util like? number of inq? Income if you don't mind? AAoA? It looks like from your sig you've been doing this a while?

Ooops sorry. I'm mobile and couldn't see siggy. Yes I agree with xsvspd. We need more info. But, if you snagged an Arrival, that's probably a pretty good sign of being able to get Discover It

I got Discover It first and then Barclay Sallie Mae the next day. Discover pulled EX (720) and Barclay pulled TU (690-700). AAoA 6 years. California. 6 30/60 lates from 2012.

Your TU might be a little low but I see more EQ pulls for Discover on that other site. There are a lot of 680+ approvals.

BTW, I think you meant "Barclays Arrival" not "Barclays Approval" in your signature.

Thanks! EQ and TU are both 670; income $135k, AAoA I think is about 6+ yrs, Inquiries are 12 in last six months. I know a lot of inquiries - i have added approx $30k in CL's since joining the site a few months back and I owe it all to the MyFICO community. If I recall I was denied back in Nov / Dec 2013 for the Discover IT card....

Have you checked for Pre-Approval? It's worth a shot, and doesn't affect your CS. And no offers found doesn't always mean you don't qualify, especially if you're on the opt out list.

FWIW, I got no pre-approvals on any of my last spree--recommendations but no congratulations--but it was very successful despite that fact.

And as I've learned with Amex, don't take it personally if one issuer doesn't like you. Others will. Can't get any new account love from Amex but my CL increase has been similar to yours.

I'd like to think some banks would understand BK as a fact of life in this economy, especially the ones who got bailed out themselves. But as was said on another thread, there's no human-recognizable logic in finance.

I got my IT card last month and the letter I received with it says 631.

Is this fico score or their internal score?

It did not say, u no, ur fico score is blah blah blah......

I would have expected it to be real FICO. And it may be even without that notice, since it is in a mandated disclosure. Maybe someone has experience or better google skills than I do to find proof.

I do know that if it's outside an AA-type notification, unless it says FICO it's FAKO.

I called Discover to inquire about the 5% for HD and Lowes purchases and the CSR indicated that the 5% is limited to the first $1,500. I have decided to wait until my scores are higher - maybe once I hit 700's. Thanks to MyFICO for the info and encouragement.
