B of A Recon Success After 3 Denials Calling Recon Number

I called the B of A recon number 4 times today. The first 3 credit analysts denied me for the First Tee Platinum Plus MasterCard. I waited an hour and called back and got a real nice lady there who hooked me up with a $2000 limit!!!! Wooooo Hooooo!!!! Chalk up another one to persistance....lol. If you don't get the answer you want, keep calling back. You'll get someone to help you out eventually!!!

I'm glad you stuck with it.

When it comes to negotiation, the general rule of

thumb is " Never accept a 'No' answer from someone

not in a position to tell you 'Yes' ." Now we're gonna

have to modify that to "If a decisionmaker tells you 'No',

keep asking until another one tells you 'Yes'."

Yes it is. The lady there said they had over 300 credit analysts. I could have called for weeks and never gotten the same one twice.....lol.

I have a similar story. Boa preapproved me online for $1500 last week and I took the offer and applied. I called this morning to find out about it and I was told by one of the reps that I was not approved for the card that I applied for (which was Boa Platinum plus). Instead they approved me for Boa Premier Card which is one step below their Platinum Plus card. I asked him to reconsider and he declined since I only had $1500 approved and he asked me to wait 6 months to build some history with them before the upgrade.

I was so sad. Then I thought to myself, what the heck, I am going to call again and I called one of the backdoor number I found in this site and spoke to a credit analyst and I asked her If i was approved for the card I originally applied for which was a $1500 Platinum plus card. She said the Platinum Plus was a minimum $5000 credit limit card and I was approved for the $1500 Boa Premier Gold Card. I said to her that I was needing a bal. transfer and that was the sole reason why I applied for the Platinum plus and I was hoping to get atleast $1500 Platinum Plus card since that was what I thought I was preapproved for. And she said that in order for me to be upgraded to the Platinum Plus she needed to ask me some questions. She asked me what was my highest limit on card. My Wamu was $6k and also she asked my my income. Then she went ahead and approved me for $5000 Platinum Plus without hesitation and said I will receive both the cards but I should only activate the Platinum Plus card.

This confirms my belief once again that persistance pays!!!

My fico score is EQ 675 thats what they pulled originally.
