Capital One hard pulled all 3 CRA's today

I applied for a Capital One card and they pulled all three CRA's.

Anyone else ever have this happen with Capital One, or any other CC company?

Yup, Capital One has always, afaik, pulled all three. At least they now report the limits. JFCU has been reported to pull all three.

They will also continue to pull all thre reports on a regular basis....possibly even monthly. At least for me they do!

I just double checked my reports on Privacy Guard. They actually pulled like 6 months apart, but I think some inquiries have dropped off, because I remember there being more last time. In any case, a hard on all three, every 6 months or so, guaranteed.

okay wait, I just remembered I have 2 accounts with them... I can't tell which inquiry is for which account, so maybe they pulled once for each account?? Sorryif I freaked you out...my brain is a little fried today!!

Well, that's just outrageous. If they want to be super-careful on your initial app and pull all three, well then so be it. But once your account is up and running, if you are not applying for additional credit, they DO NOT have PP (permissable purpose) to pull a hard. If they want to see what you're up to, they only need to do a soft with an -AR or AM prefix.

You're right, it is outrageous. I've had a Capital One card since 2001 and an auto loan with them since July '07. I just noticed recently on my TC reports that Cap One pulled a hard on EQ and TU at the end of November. I haven't applied for any additional credit since the auto loan, so I have no idea why they did that.
