Hello,

On a serious note I seriously feel that putting too much information about ourselves on the forum hurts us more than helps. I used to post multiple times a day, but now have stopped. I just simply read and observe now and look for advice.

Don't think I'm paranoid trust me I don't give a **bleep** about creditors watching me on the forum. But I seriously think "Chase " refers to this forum alot.

Everytime I would talk about credit information or advice with chase they would refer me to these forums.

If any credit rep/ risk analyst/ lending department came to these forums they could easily identify which user we are. Under most people signatures are their current cards. They just have to cross reference that with your credit report which they have and their you go they know everything your talking about on these forums.

Do you think this really happens ?? I'm not taking about when you go for CLI, apply for a new card, soft pulled my creditors AR, non of that normal stuff.

I mean when they like dig into you like crazy, usually this happens if something out of the ordinary happens. Like for example chase closes your credit cards. This has happened to a few people on the forum. But do you think when they close your cards they actually look at what we talk about on these forums ??

Please don't think I'm paranioid I was just starting a topic on the forum and that I personally feel does happen, but not to a crazy extent like every creditor trying to do a search on the forum to identify all their clients, but I feel it is really easy to a creditor to look at our signatures and see our current cards and then match that against credit report and bam you know exactly which user we are.

I don't think they actually pay people that would freaking amazing and would explain alot why these banks needed a bailout..lol I'm saying that once your put under their microscope do you think that really happens.

Risk departments at big banks like Chase BOA are only 30-40 people. Now there mught be multiple risk departments but still the group is pretty small. These are the guys that once your accounts gets flagged by the computers they do the manual review looking into any financial info u have, cross reference your deposit accounts if you any with them and then make a decision to close you, cld you, or take any AA against you.

Not sure that would hold up. There's no verification that what individual posters post is accurate. I can make up whatever cards/limits I want and put it in my sig. Doesn't make it real. Even assuming the data is legit they'd have hundreds/thousands of matches with the limited data points given.

When dealing with millions of records/people and limited data points you're not the unique snowflake you think you are

I think very few posts actually give info an issuer would care enough about (to change a decision). So I don't talk about my plan to suddenly max out my cards and leave the country on June 6th for example, or that the majority of the cards in my sig are obtained under stolen SSNs.

Most other things really aren't worth their attention, even things that might seem significant to us, like ways to get a second CSP bonus.

I remember a while back there was a person who reported to NFCU postings where people implied/stated that they had managed to obtain membership through invalid means, but even then it seemed like they weren't that interested, presumably because tracking down the individual was too much work.

So I wouldn't worry! There are other forums which would be of more concern first.

@CreditCuriousity wrote:

Not going to happen OP. I use to work for a major CC company writting software for them. More so on the database side. If anyone tried to query up peoples info for any reason other then a work related issue they would be fired and monitoring forums wouldn't qualify for that and you would have to have back end SQL access to do alot of what you mention. That is what Database auditing is for to keep people from doing stuff they aren't suppose to do. I use to work for the IRS as well and if people looked up peoples info for any other reason then work related welcome to possible prision time.

But the OPs concern wasn't about unauthorized employees doing this, it was about a team who would have this as their primary job function.

So in telecomm, we do indeed fire employees who look up the call records of their SO, or ex-SOs, or those who get a friend to do it, basically you need a valid business purpose to do this. But we do indeed have a team authorized to do this in [cases where it needs to be done]

Not that I think what the OP proposes does happen (because of lack of worth) but it's not the case you are talking about.

I can only speak for the CC company I worked for as I would be one of the people that pulled up auditing reports for upper-management and we didn't do any such thing. I just really can't see any justifcation or practical need for OP's possible theory. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion though. Who knows maybe there are banks that do, but we weren't one of them
