It should NOT be this difficult to get a creditor to update. And I don't believe it is TU since all my other accounts have updated just fine this month. I can only imagine how frustrated you must be and you are in the midst of the mortgage process. Bless your heart! Hopefully they will send the manual update today and this will all be cleared up. This has certainly put a bad taste in my mouth regarding Barclays. And I won't be carrying a balance with them anymore. Too unreliable.

That's just it - if it wasn't for the "Middle of the Mortgage" stuff, I wouldn't be pressing as much as I am. Either way, TU has ALWAYS been the last to update with every single creditor. What kills me is when I see the "Reported on" date which is generally the day after or the day of the statement cut. OK then - that means TU has sat on it for at least 5-9 days while EX/EQ get it done in 2-3. I blame em both since we have NO ability whatseover to fax over a statement to "prove" to the wonderful consumer-friendly CRAs that what we are saying is true (wouldn't THAT be nice?)

This back/forth nonsense is ticking me off more than anything as NO ONE wants to take responsibility for it. Heck it isn't THEIR scores/lives being messed with so why should they? it's only holding me up for 12 days and counting who cares??? This seller is getting ansy as well - and I don't blame them for thinking there is an issue qualifying as I would probably be thinking the same thing. If another offer comes in, there is nothing stopping the seller from rescinding based on me "possibly" not qualifying whenever there is another fully-qualified buyer right there. Sighhhhhhh........

I can only hope & pray this fax will do the trick - and I REALLY hope it doesn't take another 2 weeks to process... The things we have to do to ensure we're "portrayed" properly!!!

Just curious, since I'm in the midst of getting a mortage and Barclay hasn't updated STILL since May's statement cut. It's been 12 days, called TU, said they have not received anything, called Barclay, said they reported and MUST report within "24 hours per the FCRA" and this is TU's fault.

I don't understand this company whatsoever. Last month, I had to pull teeth to get them to manually update EX as I already have one "NO DATA" for Februray & I don't need another one. Furthermore, this "Stale Data" could be impacting my TU score which is why the lender won't move forward until something official from Barclay is sent or they simply update the TL. Lender wants the latter of the two to "score me" better even though it's not going to make a difference IMO with the scores I have.

Anyways, sorry to gripe about this again, but am I the only one putting up with one or more CRAs not being updated with Barclay? EVERY single other TL has long been updated - and while TU is always the slowest for me to update, if my SL's have reported, then it's DEFINITELY overdue w/Barclay. I don't know why they have to push the blame on TU when last month, they admitted to their screw-up with EX.

Hoepfully I won't be alone here & I can use "others are griping about this too" as leverage. Opening a dispute is not an option - then I'll have an account in dispute and REALLY make the mortgage lender go off!

Thanks everyone - and my apologies again. Just really sick of this every month with this place.

One of my barclay cards failed to report on TU so far this month. It reported to EX and EQ over 10 days ago. In this case, I'm more likely to blame TU since TU has been slow on several different accounts this month (every month).

In the past, I think that it's worked to put a dispute in with TU. They have a category for things like: balance is incorrect, account is paid

But it may have just been a coincidence that the dispute appeared to fix it. TU is slowwwww.

I totally get how you feel!!

@gmason wrote:

Oh I agree 1000% that TU is beyond ridiculously slow. They're ALWAYS the last to show up for just about everything. I do blame TU for that aspect and if TU truly DID receive all of Barclay's TLs, we're 2 weeks out now. However, I must also blame Barclay just as much for basically refusing to do anything about it other than tell me to call TU for the 20th time & dispute it. Well, #1, I cannot as I've disputed it twice over for this reason & TU won't let me dispute it LOLOL! #2, it isn't appropriate, smack-dab in the midst of the mortgage processes, to open a dispute as that's a sure-fire way for me to be delayed until it is resolved. I explained and explained and explained all this to no avail. THAT is the part that I'm frustrated with the most w/Barclay - the go-to answer of "dispute it" will cause me MORE harm than good.

When I disputed in the past, I just used the "My balance is incorrect" reason and it took them longer to resolve that than it did for them to report the following month. That's the other reason why it's basically pointless as by the time they get it and send the correct info, 06/10 will come around so what will happen then? Will I just have some never-ending disputing going on just to get a TL to be updated?

I'm VERY sure this isn't the end of the craziness.

BTW: I now have a fax number to send a request to!! If anyone else needs/wants it to send the request to "FCRA Compliance", just say the word. I don't know if I can post it publicly as I don't know if this is a "known" number or what, but if any of you need to write up a request as I have, I'll share the info of course. Was told to put my name, account #, and reason which I wrote as: "Account hasn't updated with TU since 03/2014. Last month it was EX. This is impacting my ability to procure my mortgage as well as my overall credit profile's accuracy. Please send a maual update to TU ASAP, per my conversation with Josh this morning, as the data you have furnished it is out of date, needs to be updated with 05/10's statement data, here's a copy of what you all reported last on me that is 2 months old now, get your behinds in gear".

 - wonder if that last line will do some good!

On topic and off topic. The reason I feel that both Barclays, other Credit Cards Companies, and CRA play the non update game is simple. The biggest reason we push, prod, call, write to them to fix a wrong/updated month is when we are usuallly out for our scores to go up, for the reason of gaining and/or getting new or larger credit. I dont think the CC and banks like us getting more credit outside of their pockets and eyes. They are more they happy to make us wait a month or two to get propper updates fixed at the moment.
