a little success!

So i have been on the credit repair journey for a while now....

I posted earlier asking what people think about cards..... and which ones i should apply for....

So i thought to myself.... why not apply for my credit union first?

I asked for a 5k credit limit and within a half hour, i got a call stating that i was approved for a fixed 9.99% on the 5k and no interest for 12 months..... HAHA epic!

I know this is an old thread of mine but i wanted to go ahead and give you all an update.

So i went to purchase a new car recently and was given some interesting news. I am mid 700's now! I was financed for a used vehicle loan at 1.9% (Way better then my Credit union could do!)

I have to honestly say, i am looking at moving away from these sub-prime cards of mine (3 Capital One Cards) and moving to a discover or Chase slate.... what do you guys think?

I would see if it's possible to PC the Cap 1 before you give up on them. They could make them all Quicksilvers, or at least make one of them a Quicksilver giving you 1.5% cash back on all transactions. Are you asking for CLIs with them? If you aren't getting the results you'd like, just be frank with the Cap1 EO (via Facebook) and say that you feel like your credit is better, and you are either going to apply for another card with better cashback or see if they can change you to the Quicksilver and increase your limit.

They've done really well in the past for situations such as these.

Ahh i havent had good success with them at ALL! the problem is they are still sitting at like 24% APR....

What is a PC? sorry i have been out of touch a little while.... One of them, they did upgrade to a quicksilver with a 3k balance.... which frankly i have a CC with my local CU with a 5k limit and 11% ....

i have tried to do the "Credit Limit Increase" button thing on their website, but nothing any further then that. one of the cards i have with them i dont even carry a balance on since it is ONLY 500$ ......

Could you elaborate on the facebook Cap1 EO? What is an EO? lol Thank you very much!

Congrats on the upgrade! I hope you can get a better CL and APR on those cards. I just closed my Credit One Bank CC because of low CL and super high APR. But give us an update when you hear something else, hopefully good news!

Sorry just saw this! You can send a message to Capital One on Facebook. We think that's a way to get in touch with the executive office, but if even if it's not and it's just a rep that personally looks over your report, they still are pretty helpful. I've never walked away from them so to speak without something being bettered with my capital one cards. They will call you and ask your income, what exactly you're looking for, and also ask if you're willing to accept less than full ask for the credit limit increase.

I understand the APR may be high, but you also can ask that this be lowered. (Cashback cards usually will have a higher APR because they want you to carry a balance to get all of their money back! lol The Quicksilver's 1.5% CB is a great one -- and I would treat this as a pay in full card only.
