It took 8 months to run The Sleigh Center into the ground-

I vow not to apply for any New credit - until Jan 2009 or later

No more Apps!!!!!!!

This thread is dedicated to those who have re-built their credit but need encourgement to "credit garden"

I invite anyone to join-

There is no HVT in the Concorduser Center- as after joining and making your commitment to not app until XX/XXXX and you violate your commitment, you may no longer post in the Concorduser Center.

Let's see in a year who can still post in this thread.

From Nov 06 to Nov 07 I got 20 cards. Caught the frenzy! My goal is no apps until Jan 09 when I get a TrueEarnings Amex (Costco) and a Discover card. 2009 will be the year to determine the keepers among them. I'll last till January. [edited to go back a year - sigh]

As for me, I vow not to apply for any new cards until a GREAT USAA Amex offer comes (12-36 months)...does that work or do I need to set a specific date? -hehe

I am totally up for this challenge.

I went through a crazy app spree in 2007, and now I am getting rid of cards.

I vow not to app until May of 2009, with the stipulation that my score must be 760 or greater! If I do not meet the FICO score requirement then I will continue my pledge until I have reached my goal!

I have 19 open CC's and plan to have cut 10 over the next year.....already ditched 4! ALL CC's PAID IN FULL!! WOO HOO!

There is too much clutter in my desk!

I love the name of the "new" center! Very appropriate Right now I only have 1 foot in the door..I am rebuilding right now..diluting the bad with the good. I have been good though, went shopping at Gap and Old navy and did not attempt to app!

Yes, I'm in! And I love the new name. I've applied for tons of apps, been approved for most, even if the limit has been low. But I am at a point where I'm gardening. There's just one more card I want to apply for, and that's the USAA, either the MC or Amex, but I prefer the Amex. So I promise not to apply until February of 2009, which would be a year from my original application spree. *crosses fingers*

I have on card to apply for at Navy FEd after we sign our mortgage papers on Tuesday (we don't want to change anything on our credit between now and then)

And I'm going to ask for a product change with Chase!

OH and I'm going to have my dh cancel is OB and Capitol ONe cards

My last card app was December 10th (Amex, got it), my last credit app was December 26th (car, Toyota, got it) and my last inq was last month (rate reduction for Heloc due to improved credit profile).

So I need to wait for January to get everything over a year old!

I too commit to not appying until January 2009 at the earliest. Although, I probably should wait truthfully until September 2009. I just submitted paperwork to purchase a home, going through a first time homebuyers program. Scores should be high enough to qualify. (please Lord!!!) But after my appy spree all my scores are in mid to low 600's which is needed for the program. I have two nice MC thanks to Hooter's and Chase, three store cards, Children's place, JCPenny's, Old Navy. I have apped so much I don't remember everywhere I applied. LOL

It was it was almost orgasmatic when I got approvals. LOL But I am off my high and I will tend to my garden, let it grow and watch the prosperity. I am grateful I found this forum!! Thanks

Just got a CU card with 1000 CL, Appl and got a better card from Cap1, will combine starter card with this for 1000 CL. That is it for me, keep working on scores, trying to buy home early next year, so will cultivate and clean up till then.

This will be good for me to get used to having CC's. Really happy for this positive move in my life Thanks So MUCH to everyone here!!

What a nice name My last app was on 01-02-08 ,and it was at GAP denied .

So my last inq thro EXP was on Sep-18-07,my last inq thro TU was on Oct-07,and my last inq thro EQ was on 01-02-08 . i am trying to hold myself from applying as much as i can,and let my score to increased .

I applied for a CC this past June. A Continental Airlines Rewards MC. I am a frequent Continental flyer, and it was too good to pass up. I also shopped for a new car around the same time, and the inquries caused my scores to take a hit. I intend to Refi my home out of an ARM in June 2010. So, until this has been accomplished,I'm trying to keep my Utlization low, Pay off a balance on WAMU of 3800, and keep my scores up. I'm rebuilding my savings, after paying off a HUGE amount of CC debt. Down to my last 3800, and it feels GREAT!
