How do I close Comenity Store Cards

I started rebuilding credit 10 11/2013, and got 10 Comenity Store Cards via the Shopping Cart Trick. All of the cards have low limits, and for stores I never shop at.

I am now at the stage where I have regular credit cards, and major store cards, with higher limits. Also, Comenity just gave me a Fuel Perks Giant Eagle Card with double the limit of all their other cards put together ($5,500).

I now have 22 open TL, and it is becoming somewhat unmanageable keeping track. So, I want to close 2 of the Comenity Cards every month.

I can't find an online function to close the cards, and I really don't want to spend hours on the phone.

pretty sure almost all banks make you call to cancel accounts.

Thanks. I just wondered if there was a way to do it on line because my GERB cards have an online option.

When I closed my MyPoints Visa it was a pretty painless phone call. My Sportsman's Guide Visa is next up on the chopping block so I will be calling Comenity again soon myself. Good Luck!

Comenity actually has a very easy and painless way to close accounts. I know because I closed a couple of accounts 2 weeks ago. Here's what you need to do:

Log on to your account

Click on the Help tab and view all help questions.

Under the My Account section of FAQ one of them is 'How do I close my account?' - It gives you a phone number to close that specific store card.

Call the number and go through the automated steps to close the account.

Easy Peasy I had them fax me a confirmation just to have proof I closed the accounts and there were no problems. Last week I got SW alerts that both accounts were closed so I know it worked. Hope that helps, let me know if you have any questions.

I have closed ALL of my Comenity store cards with their toy limits, high APR's and of little use to me at least. All I did was send them an email off the account page that said:

Please CLOSE my J Crew (et all) account ending in 1234 (whatever) and my name. The next day I got an email back that said based on your request we have closed your "store name" acount ending in 1234. Next month the account reported to the CRA's as "closed by account holder".

I'd like to have the total Rewards Visa, but I'm sick of dealing with Comenity for anything and will not app for anything that they back/issue.
