Dear all, i have a question. My credit score at this time is 679 on CK which is Fair credit score. I don't have any credit card right now, but before i have my credit score, I've tried to apply a credit card at Capital One and got denied. So now i am building my credit through acceptancenow because my husband put my name on it to build my zero credit score so now i have my credit score.

My Question is i am thinking to build more my score to makes it good score so i would like to give a try to apply another credit card, but i don't have an income ( just homemaker ) so what should i put on the application about income? Should i put my husband's income on it?

Will i get approved or will i get denied again with my no income? I don't want makes my score get less if i get denied again

Thank you

I always put my Household income which is my BF and I so yes i suggest putting your husbands income down. CK is always a Fake score. Shouldnt go with the score they give as your credit score. As for cards, usually Cap1 is one of the easier ones to get. Did you apply for their avg credit card? or excellent credit? As for a denial, no one wants a denial but it wont hurt you too bad. It will generate an inq. However as your profile thickens inqs wont affect you as bad. They only stay on your report for 2 years.

+1...if you are married you can include your husband's icome. Cap1 classic platinum could be a good choice for you. If denied again, A secured CC is the route I'd go. Make sure it's one that graduates like WF or BoA. At least it's a start. It's how I started and a year later scores have jumped 100+ points. Good luck! Oh one more thing...I'd stay away from first premier bank. Fees will kill you.

Victorias secret from my knowledge, hopefully someone else can chime in doesnt like to give out very good limits or increases. Macys i believe is supposed to be better, care for their APR its 27% i believe so best not to carry a balance with them. a Secured CC could be a good start for like 6 mos. and then apply for a non secured card.

I would check the capital one website pre-qualification and see if you get an offer for a card, if so apply and use joint income.

I would also check pre-qualification at Americanexpress.com - they have been issueing cards to new credit lately.

also just last week a person at age 18 with no credit was approved for bank of america.

I would check those 2 pre-qual and apply if offers and apply to Bank of America. 3 and then stop.
