Almost there - Amex Card just arrived

I just received my EveryDay card from Amex in the mail yesterday, and the paperwork included my Experian Score. it said my FICO score was 696. I am guessing this is the Card Enhanced version since my expieran 08, per myFico, is 689, but I'll take it. 696!!!! Just 4 points shy of 700... Just 6 months ago, I was in the 500s. Not bad..

Congratulations! My BCE just arrived also and says my Experian FICO is 659 (which matched my FICO score from here that I pulled a few days prior to applying) so I have a little bit more of a ways to go than you do. I hope to see 700s by the end of the year though.

Thanks, notfancy. I still need to take care of my last baddie, but I want to PFD it. Until I am ready to do that, I am not going to poke the proverbial bear since they didn't update since March of 2012.

Needless to say, I doubt that I will see any significant score improvement until that drops off.

Darn. Well, I hope you can get that PFD, or at least that the negative keeps on affecting you less every year. Regardless, like a previous poster stated you have made massive strides in a short amount of time, so you're very obviously doing a lot of things right! You deserve a ton of credit for taking control like you did, and changing things around as much as you have!!

Indeed, but think about it, I didn't know about PFDs or requesting early removal from the CRAs and they removed it a few months earlier than scheduled.

Now, back to the garden to grow these cards. I really don't need any more cards at the moment. Mortgage in about 6 months, and then I am set.

Nice score bump for sure and a nice looking set of cards you've got too. I had the Credit One card as one of my first rebuilders. Are you aware that every 6 mos, if not sooner, you can get CLI's?? Every time I called they gave it to me. Started with a $250 limit & by the time I closed it I was at $950.

If you've never asked...I highly recommend it!

make sure to try and take advantage of the cli opportunities from Amex. you can do your first 3x cli at 61 days, and then its every six months after that you can ask for one .

I never requested a CLI from CreditOne. They gave me a $100 CLI automatically from 300 to 400 after I paid my very first statement, but not since. I keep checking "My Offers" but nothing is showing up.

I will be looking into calling them and see what they say. When I got CreditOne, I was in the 500s, so maybe they will give me a CLI if I call. Thanks for the heads up.

After your first credit line increase in 61days after opening the account, you can request a CLI every six months thereafter.
