Receiving my FIRST WMC!

Thanks to the encouragement of Coldnmn, I attempted to request Cap1 to upgrade my MC to a World MC on my Quicksilver. I had received a CLI back in March which brought be to $5750. He had noticed it in my signature and asked me if it had been changed to a WMC. I called Cap1 from the number on the back of my card and was told by the CSR that I did not have an "offer" available for the change. So Coldnmn suggested I try to PM through Cap1's FB page by sending a PM. I had never done any type of communication with any CCC through fb but he stated he had had success with them, so I went ahead and sent a PM.

Cap1 did respond quickly but they said it would have to be researched and they would give me a call when they had an answer. This was last wend and when I didn't hear anything by Fri, I figured I would wait until the first of the week. So I send another message this morning via FB PM stating I still had not received a call yet. They got back with me quickly in within less then an hour, I had a call from them saying that I did qualify and Congratulations, I would be receiving a WMC!

Thank you to Coldnmn and Notsofancy for their suggestions and enouragement. But thank you to the regular poster's here on MyFico for always sharing their experience and knowledge. It means anyone can repair as long as they have the patience and desire to do so. It doesn't happen overnight. My CL's aren't super high, but they are growing and so is my CS!

That's great, I just asked through Facebook for my $5900 Quicksilver. I didn't know there was a WMC Quicksilver option... as long as it still retains the 1.5% rewards, I'm happy. Does it look any different?

Don't know. I was just approved for it today! They said it could take up to 30 days to receive the replacement cards.

I doubt if anyone would get denied for the upgrade through EO or going through Facebook as long as they have a $5000 CL. They make more on swiping fees on the WMC.

It looks like the Visa Siggy QS, except with a monochromatic MC logo. It's a nice look.

Gratz on the wmc, I am hoping to get an WMC when i app for sallie mae in october :-) Just random thought i have an MC freedom could i get an wmc even though chase is supposedly moving away from MC to Visa only ?

Congrats! I look forward to my CLI date with Cap1 -- I fully anticipate it going over 5k and I will do the same thing, as well. I would rather use this card at Sam's than any other card. It doesn't give me 5% on my Sallie Mae that I thought it might. Oh well! That's ok.

Hopefully I will get an auto CLI in 6 months with my SM that would qualify me for another WMC. But I have yet to obtain a Visa....so if Chase is moving towards Visa, than that will be a good option for me. I would like to get my CL's up enough that I don't have to CLI to qualify for the visa sig. It would be nice to get it through an instant approval.

Haven't seen Barclays change from MC to WMC too many times before...

Just an update - I received my WMC today! Really happy to finally have it!
