Capital one requesting additional info, approved or denied?

I applied for a quicksikver one card on 6/8 and finally found out today the reason for my pending status was due to needing proof of ss# and address. I faxed over the requested info today. Has anybody else expierinced this and received and approval and if so how long after you faxed the info were you approved? Thank you!

You are pobably approved and they just need to verify that you are who you say you are. Otherwise, I would think they would just flat deny you.

This doesn't necessarily speak directly to your concern. However, it does speak about the success I have personally had with the EO office for Cap1. I had another issue with Cap1. After reading some posts on here, I decided on Thursday, last week, to send a PM on their Facebook page. By Monday (2 days ago) I got a phone call from a woman with their EO office and she asked for 5-6 days to call me back with answers. Low and behold, about 20 minutes ago, and only 2 days later, she called me back and told me that my problem was solved, they also increased my CL, and converted me to their QS1 card with the AF of $19 waived! I'm telling you this to say that there is hope once you reach the correct people to complain to.

well I called and the rep told me they received my fax and it could take up to 15 days to recieve a approval or denial. Sure seems like a long time to find out

Maybe try sending a PM through FB. Strangly, that seems to be a good way to go over calling the CSR. Or try the recon or EO numbers which are posted somewhere here on the boards. But honesly, I think they wouldn't be wasting their time unless you were approved. But I understand that the waiting is killer.

The rep did tell me on my initial call the reason they needed the additional info was due to an alert on one of my reports.

Have you recently looked at all of your reports to know what is showing on them?

Yes. I did recieve notice about the alert via mail, but I didn't think about that when I had applied.

I called again today and they are still reviewing it. Curious If anybody else has gone through this with them and how long they took?

When I opened my card, I got instant approval, but for like two months my card kept getting deactivated because they suspected fraud - I think it's because I had just changed addresses when I opened the card, but I'm not sure. I had to keep calling and it kept happening repeatedly, and then they sent me a new card. There hadn't even been the opportunity for fraud because I'd literally just gotten the card and never used it.

But maybe they're extra careful about potential identity theft.

You will be approved! It took about 2 weeks for me too after I sent them the requested info.

Mike8181 thank you for the response! So it does actually take the full 15 days then. Did you just get the card in the mail or did you have to keep calling to find out?

Im very new to the myFICO site and forums in general. But i have had the same ting hapen to me. They requested POI on me. I sent it in... Just called today and they said that it was recieved and they are still processing the docs. I should have an answer in 10-15 days.

I just called and it's been since June 18th that I sent in my info and they said it's still under review and I should know in a couple of days! I hope it's not a measly $300 limit after all the wait. Crazy

Capitol one is VERY careful going when they suspect fraud. When my wife applied for a secured card she used my bank account for the deposit and the NEXT day less than 18 hours later Cap One called both me and than my wife, consulting the fraud, they than contacted my bank and initiated a Conference Call with my wife, me, a Cap One fraud manager and my banks fraud specialist. They verified my identity my bank info and we were all set.

It was a bit of work but I am pleased that they take the extra precaution with fraud.
