You really should only get it if you have a good use for it. I do enjoy the monthly FICO and the "cash over" feature. I haven't used the special financing option yet, but that also makes it a good card to have. However, if those things don't appeal to you, then save the HP.

The Mastercard will be 1% from dollar one unlike the Discover. My philosophy is only apply for cards I need for rewards etc not because I want them. You get to many cards you want may hurt the chances for the cards you need.

Besides the Free FICO scores, I think the best advantage of a Walmart Card is to build higher CL's for rebuilders like myself. You have a excellent portfolio of Tier one cards, so unless you shop there weekly, no use for it. Just my 2 cents.

Gas is definitely the premier benefit on the WalMart cards (other than the free FICO). If you have WalMart (aka Murphy's) stations in your area, they will often already have the lowest gas prices around, so saving an extra 15 cents is like getting your gas that much cheaper than anyone else in town.

If you don't have the gas stations nearby and you have access to the FICO via other means, there's not much need for the card.

And the Barclaycard gives me the TU08, but it doesn't update regularly. Although I would like to have this card for the two benefits, I don't really need another HP on my report. Especially after adding 3 new cards post Barclay's approval. Oh well, maybe in a few months and I'll get the Discover IT card. Who knows...
