Walmart AND Walmart discover

I have a walmart store card and accidentally applied for the discover version. (I fill out apps and delete without submitting in order to satisfy an urge and I bumped the submit button). Anyway, 3500 limit on the walmart and only 600 on the discover. Do you think credit solutions will up the limit since the store card is getting shut down?

It's worth a try to see if you can transfer limit and and close the card. Or try to get a CLI that might be an option without closing the store card. In my opinion I doubt it, but give it a try and please surprise me. Good Luck and please update either way.

Call them and see if they will work things out for you on that. There's tons of posts where Credit Solutions upped the limits on recon and you already took the HP so the better that can from your "urge" is a gain. Here's pulling for a positive outcome for you on this

I was approved for the Walmart Discover last week, with a low limit of $700 also. I could be wrong, but it may be that since Syncrony Bank took over, they have become stingier. At least you were apporved instantly, I had to battle thru recon to get mine.

They attempt to approve you for Discover version first and if you don't meet criteria, then they attempt to approve for store version.

i was referring to the store card being shut down as soon as I activate the discover. I applied for the discover, but from reading on these forums, I was taking a definite chance of getting 2 store cards. Thank goodness that didn't happen

GECRB has been giving a lot of people low starting limits on the Walmart Discover card for several months. Much lower than the starting limits they've been giving for the Walmart Store card. They gave me a starting limit of $400 on the Walmart Discover. After 4 months they gave me an auto CLI to $1,000. I immediately called (877)379-8173 and they increased my limit to $5,000.

I hope that works for me if credit solutions doesn't pan out.

last month they gave me the Ebates signature and the amex dillards, so I raised an eyebrow at the low limit, but it is GE so at the very least, it will work in the end if I do my part and pay the bill

Wow. Thanks for the info Oil. I will try to take that path. They give me a low limit also on The Walmart Discover also.

Any chance you can tell me what your utilazation was in those 4 months?

I probably spent an average of $75 per month on the card and would let a small balance report each month. I always PIF. I always let less than 1% report as my overall utilization.

Yeah, they gave me $400 starting limit Walmart Discover too. The very same night they gave me $2,000 Paypal MC.

I bought an Ipad mini with the card and let the balance reported at $213, I plan to pay $50 every month to see if I can get a CLI after 4th statement cuts
