No luck with Barclay Apple PC

Called in to see if I could get my Apple Financing Card changed to a Rewards card with no luck! She never gave me a reason or said I'd be getting anything in the mail, just that "there's no way for us to change your Apple card to a Rewards card, you'll have to apply for the Rewards Card separately"

Oh well, worth a shot! No HP or anything.

I really don't know why they are not flexible to do that. Have you ttied going to their Facebook and wrote a Comment about it? Because I did that and they where able to convert my salie mae card to the reward one. Ask for a credit analyst when ask for conversion It might help.

I just called the 888 backdoor number, not the credit analyst, I might have to try that next time, I haven't tried the FB technique, not really sure how to go about that!

Barclay seems very reluctant to PC from the Apple Card, maybe that is the deal they have with Apple?

Try the prescreen and see what comes up. I got the Apple and Rewards within about 2 weeks of each other. If you app, and get the 7-10 day, call a CA for a recon.

I kind of regret getting the Apple Card. There is no real benefit for me. The card doesn't earn rewards, and I could have got the 0% financing on my Amazon Card, and paid a lower price.

I am going to wait a few more months, then get the Sallie Mae.

I would keep trying till you get an someone who would work with you.

I think what helped me is I somehow got transferred to a person who thought I wanted to close my account, I explained that i had no need for the apply finance card and would like Barclays to switch the card to one of the rewards cards and did not want to apply for a new card, and it was processed in Minutes.

Dont Give up....Keep Trying.

It was no problem for me Apple Visa to rewards Visa in about 3 minutes with the number on the back of the card. Wonder if they are cracking down on this for some reason? Just hard with the Apple card unless you purchase big ticket Apple products every couple months. Id try again.

I'm going to try calling the number on the back of the card, or a different backdoor number! Tried emailing from the Barclay site and still no luck, I'll call again tomorrow or something and let you know what comes of it!

I requested to PC my Apple Financing Visa to the rewards card, too, with no luck. I tried the number on the back of the card, was transferred, told no again so I had the rep close it right there. I only want to keep cards that serve a purpose to me and at the time I wasn't in the mood to keep jumping through hoops when I've read about several successful PC's.

I tried for a PC multiple times with no luck as well - calling various numbers to see if that could alter the result. Ended up closing the card because it served no purpose, although they were willing to reinstate the Apple Financing 0% interest and 0% interest on balance transfers.

I just closed my Apple Visa yesterday. I called to ask them if I had any options because I LOVED doing business with Barclays but needed a card that better suited my needs. She said with no af I would be doing no harm just holding onto the card. I mentioned that I was rally interested in a better rewards based card with a lower interest rate. I figured with a 754 TU fico she'd offer me something, anything. She didn't so I said I wanted to close the card and that's how we ended it. oh well..one less crappy cl card to manage.

That's surprising, and too bad. I had a great call with them when I wanted to PC my apple to something else; they first offered iTunes and I asked for Rewards, which I received. No risk to cancel.

A message through their Facebook page seems to get results for a product change. I think they go the extra mile for job security as Facebook is so new for banking.

+1 what Cold said - reach out via Facebook, I tried twice with reps on the phone and was told no both times; I followed Cold's advice and got lucky.

The apple card is one of thebetter BT cards out there. At least for me it is. 1% BT fee and 0% interest for 15 months. Hard to beat those rates. In the two years I've had my card I've made like 2 pos transacations and have ran 10,000k in balance transfers thru it.

I'd keep it and use for its BT Deals.

OP, how old is your Apple card?

My Apple card is coming up on it's 6 month's statement (Either July or August, can't remember which off the top of my head).

Sorry I haven't been responding, for some reason my emails have stopped on this thread when someone replied.

Unfortunately my BT option sucks. 22.99% with a 4% BT fee

I literally purchase dog food when the need arises with this card, let the statement cut and pay it off. I'm hoping they're going to show me some auto LUV with my 6th statement. My DCU card will be my BT card of choice for the time being.

I've been debating thinning out my credit profile, this one will be up on the list for "first to get closed" if they don't show me some auto luv and better rates.

I've contacted the EO that someone suggested with no luck, she praised me for on time payments.

I've contacted BarclayCardUS through FB and still nothing, she looked up my account and told me "there's random accounts that can get a PC and yours just isn't one of them." I proceeded to ask them if it was based on payment history, age of the account, credit score, credit history, etc. And she kept telling me it's completely "random" who is eligible for a PC.

What's odd is I've been told that it's basically a "store" card so I can't PC it, then by another person I've been told it's "random" when I can PC it. So I'm curious if I should keep trying to find someone who can change my card.
