What are the odds of approval for cards that a company recommends for you when you do their prescreening?

Ex: I did discover and they recommended the IT card.

They only have the IT card really ... They have the Chrome as well but unless all you pay for is Gas and restaurants I would go for the normal it card. I got a pre-approval letter from Discover and got accepted which is pretty much the same as a prescreened i believe

Was the pre screening here or another web page? or was it mailed to your home? Generally speaking probably over 50%. The differences in the pre screen offers are the interest rates charged on the unpaid balances and default interest should you ever get to that point and the initial credit limit given. (Less than stellar, you will get a lower starting limit.) Good Luck!

I may be wrong, but I believe Discover shows the same card to anyone. Only difference being whether or not you check the student checkbox. When they take you to the offer page does it show you a range of APRs or a specific one for you? Does it say "congratulations"? I think Discover's pre-screen is useless.

You can fill in the form with random info to confirm. I totally may be wrong.

I second that the Discover pre screen is useless. Everyone gets an invitation to apply.
