When calling backdoor numbers to request a lower APR% does that require a HP if typically they require a HP for a CLI?

It's a SP for APR reductions.

"Hello, I've been an excellent customer with you for 2 years and I would like to see if I can possibly get an APR reduction on my account?"

Sounds about right. Mention your on time payment history, the fact that your credit score has continued to grow, card usage, etc. Assuming all those are true of course.

I call several of my cards every 6-8 months & ask for some Luv. Either CLI, APR drop, or both...all with NO HP.

Sometimes I hit the jackpot, other times I hit a brick wall. But unless you ask every now & then...the answer will always be no.

Last week, I got a lower apr on my Citi Diamond from 18 to 11 until December, then I can PC to a rewards card. She then gave me a $50 credit to my acct. Couldn't get the CLI without a HP, but she at least threw me a bone & I hung up happy!
