Chase Verifications when you have Accounts already!!!

When my partner applied for his CSP they needed verification but they instantly said I see you have an account with us already so I can ask you questions related to that account... This morning doing verification for a Slate application they would not reference anything related to current accounts but used public records and 2 of the 3 questions were related to family members addresses not mine! (short answer is the questions were failed!)

Called back into underwriting and she says a letter has been sent asking for DOB and Address verification.

I said we already have chase accounts, not 1 but 2!! how can you not verifiy!

she puts me on hold and comes back and says, yes I do see your other accounts match but I can't override.

HUH?!

Maybe once you owe three accts. they have to verify?

Weird, even when I went for my 4th Chase card I wasn't asked verification questions. Do either of you have Chase checking or savings relationship?

CA, you seem to have issues with those pesky verification questions.

I am a CPC and they asked me verification questions on my last approval. Banking, investment and multiple cc's don't matter when it comes to them.

I faxed in Drivers license, Car insurance, and Lease!

since we don't have any banking accounts, only credit cards they don't allow in branch verification according to the one rep.

They asked me addresses from over 20 years ago that I lived. I guess it's easier when it's the applicant doing the answering.

Hopefully, they won't take weeks reviewing your fax.

I don't have much to add except Ugh. I would find that incredibly frustrating. I hope they review the information you faxed and quickly respond to you.

that's really it in the end... not that big of a deal just frustrating and a time waste.

The funny thing is I know the stuff far better then him, he never would have gotten them right and he loathes doing things like that.

His moto is "Tell me where I need to be or where to sign"

we are going to get a car today that he has only seen a picture of... he would like it if he didn't even have to go to sign off on his trade in if possible (he just hates all that sort of stuff)

when we bought his infiniti, the numbers were already done, he went and picked out color and signed papers (i did everything else before hand!)

CA - My father is one of those individuals that hates to deal with those types of things too. I remember, in my younger years, when he purchased a car for me. I had already done all the negotiations and he was paying cash for the vehicle. The dealership was taking a bit to get everything finished. The sales manager came in to apologize for the delay and my father quite calmly told him that no apologies were necessary but he was leaving in 45 minutes and wouldn't be returning and it was up to the sales manager to figure out if we were leaving with a a car or not. Every time they would come in after that to update my dad would calmly look at his watch and tell them how much time was left. I have never seen so many people in a car dealership move quickly.

He meant it too. He would have left. I think I was stressing as much as the sales manager It's a good thing you are there to take care of all those "pesky" details that keep things running.

Macys did that to me when I tried to get a CLI, asked me total joke questions about a third cousin. How am I supposed to know his DOB? Good luck with it all

LOL, sounds like something my father would do... I got to remember that it is actually a better response when you calmly tell them your time is more valuable and you will leave in xx amount of time and follow through if you must vs me usually a little louder about it! (I have been really working on remaining calm and hanging up if I can't remain calm with the person because we just can't even be close to the same page and just start over once I calm down... it's actually working pretty good)

I tried to call in a 2nd time with chase and work with the guy but I quickly could tell he just started his shift and he could repeat himself for the next 7.5 hours and didn't care if I was happy or could understand the logic at all so I just said okay and hung up and created my fax and moved on with the day... I have gotten a little tied up in how instant things are so often that I then expect it that way all the time...

the car we are getting today, my partner actually wanted to sleep on it, we ended up deciding during dinner, but I had to leave the dealership yesterday (it was very hard but felt really good at the same time!) and it for sure made my partner feel better...
