I honestly don't see what the hype for this card is all about unless I'm missing something please clue me in

I use it for promos at time, special 0% financing. Save money at the gas station at the local Walmart.

My favorite feature is the "cash over" feature. You can get up to $60 with the store card and it's treated like a purchase, not a cash advance.

+1 with the Walmart Discover it's a $100 that can come in handy when away from home and save atm fees.

When i got it originally i did get it for free fico , nobody else offered it at the time. Right now its just a nice card to have to help my aaoa and util.

I use it for the convenience - we shop at WalMart weekly. Also lucky enough to have a WalMart with a gas station and right now the discount is avg 5% off at the pump. Instant rewards.

I like the monthly Fico and the growth potential that will pad util. You can go up to $25k limit. Some even have $35k.

Yes, you are missing a few reasons.

1. Walmart is a great card for people that are rebuilding their credit or are new to credit. They will give credit cards to people with pretty low scores and people that have a short or no history. I've seen some people get a credit card from them with scores as low as 620.

2. They are VERY generous with CLIs. They have credit lines as low as $150 to start and as long as you demonstrate good credit management they will give you CLIs as often as every 4 months. I started with a $500 CL and within 12 months had been upgraded to a Walmart/Discover card with a $3500CL. After 18 months the Walmart/Discover CL was $6000. I know of no other lender that will take you from a $500 CL to $6000 in 18 months without a HP. This becomes important when applying for a new CC because the new lender will try and match your highest CL if they can.

I got it for the specials on financing, used it right away to get a new A/C and i don't have to pay it off for 6 months. It will be handy on black friday. I hate holiday shopping and i always get suckered into it for my family so now i can do it with a little less credit worry.

The CLI will be nice too because every little increase helps my available credit and i need all of the help i can get.

Tha explains it all right there! Walmart is a card rat will grow with you. I want the free fico, BUT I also want to graduate!! I want that Walmart Mastercard!!

Some of us have had our Walmart card for 9 months with perfect payment history and got a $100 CLI after 6 months.

Luv button and call CLI requests have been repeatedly denied and I've quit trying. Outside of me being at some kind of maximum limit with GE ($9200 across 4 cards) I see no reason why I am not getting the love that I've seen others get... Others who also have a BK and with scores lower than mine.

I've given up trying to figure out GE... Other lenders give me CLIs but for whatever reason GE is stubborn. What's even more annoying is the cookie cutter denial letters.... Too many inquiries on a SP credit report dated 4 to 6 months ago.

I use it for when I'm tight on cash and need to get groceries, honestly. Haven't had any rewards on the card as our Walmart, nor none in our area have a gas station, the FICO score is nice (though I have Barlcay and Discover as well), this card is mainly there for utilization padding.

I was approved for $1100 instantly on the website, called GECRB Credit Services immediately, asked for $10k and was (countered) given instant increase to $5,000. I will be calling Synchrony Credit Services in August and asking for $15k to see what they counter with! I've had GREAT luck with GECRB/Synchrony and look to continue that relationship until I pay down my balances and go for better prime cards!

It's because TU is your worst score. TU is also my worst score, so I definitely haven't had the Credit Solutions luck with this card (or the other GECRB cards they service) that others have had. Hopefully I'll see change when I go for the next 4 month CLI with the LUV button.

That's some very valid points u make. Heck u should work for their account services because I'm sold! I think Walmart will be apart of my upcoming app spree...

I don't shop very often at Walmart but I find myself going to their black Friday sales a lot... Free fico scores sound good, TU is my strongest score and I have a good relationship with GE credit as I've had their card for years. All makes sense thanks for ur great reply
