Deciding Factor = Card Design?

Ok, I know many of you have been guilty of this. I know I have. Comon, admit it. You chose a particular card not necessarily for it's terms or rewards, but because the design was COOL! Raise your hand and say "I!"

I don't think I have necessarily wanted a card because of the design but I can say I am guilty of wanting certain cards for the status that comes with it, ie Platinum AMEX vs a lower tier company.

I have never used card design as a deciding factor in obtaining new credit. It matters but in the most trivial way. Terms first then rewards will always be deciding factors.

I do wish some of my cards were more appealing or offered more options like Discover but I am pragmatic about the actual tradeline.

Not for me. But if I get a card for the rewards or % off etc, I am pleased if it also looks nice in my wallet.

My Sears MC is the prettiest card I have (love that sparkly pale gold!), but I think the main benefit of this is that it will make it easier to hit when I nail it to a tree and shoot it to shreds.

I've wanted to apply for the Citi Platinum Amex really, really, really bad so I could have a cool black Amex in my wallet.

However, I have been able to resist temptation due to the fact that it doesn't report CL.

I been wanting a KIss Chase Visa card for awhile. It look really cool. I have to wait till next year at least.

when I lived in Chicago, I got the "IN Chicago" card by amex! SO PRETTY, still not sure what I gained from having it, product changed it over to blue I think after moving.

Don't you buy other collectible items because of their aesthetic appeal?! I don't understand whats wrong with obsessively collecting the shiniest credit cards and compulsively maxing them out in order of shiniest to least shiny!

I tend to go for any cards that are black, If I look at it long enough I can see a black Amex in front of me instead of a visa! lol oh and it even starts to feel metal
