It's not the same ...

So I was chatting with CapOne online 2 days ago and inquired about the WORLD version MasterCard for the QS1(I am currently holding QS1). I was told online that the WORLD version for QS1 is no longer available. And now .. I just logged into my account and saw the name of the card is different, it"s WORLD ELITE MASTERCARD. I don't remember what it was before but definitely not WORLD ELITE MASTERCARD. Still same limit, 3k. Waiting for the credit step to kick in - praying for a higher increase. Do you guys think I'll receive a new card ?

That's interesting I just went to look at my quicksilver. It's still world MasterCard . I am wondering if they will change it

Ok, I am currently chatting with a CapOne representative online now and I've been told that they upgraded my card to WORLD ELITE MasterCard as of yesterday. I'll be getting a new card with the words WORLD ELITE above the MasterCard logo. And now, what's the different between the World and the World Elite master card?

Interesting.. How long have you had the QS1? Was it always a QS or PC from something else?

It has always been QS1. I got approved in March of this year with a 3k limit. The limit is still 3k though ....

OK that makes sense. They wouldn't PC my QS to World version because it was PC from platinum less than 6 months ago. They said only one PC every six months. So yours was a first time PC

I have the card for less than 6 months. And I wonder if the new card design is gonna be the same as the plain old QS1 but with the words WORLD ELITE on it.

They meant one PC no less than 6 months after the last one. It doesn't have to be 6 months from card opening as far as I know.

Some people here have got the World version, they can probably describe it.. Since posting pictures is prohibited

Also, should the world or world elite not be signature cards? How come they don't carry a 5K CL?

I have no idea too. My limit is still 3k ... Maybe they upgrade it to the world elite is because they recently approved me for a visa signature with 10k limit ?

I don't know the score requirement for those cards but the letter I got from CapOne for my Venture approval. They said my score is 671 .. I think it's because I recently got auto loan and a few new credit cards. Hopefully my score will bounce back up in the near future.

my limit is 3500 and my card is still a Platinum MasterCard

No. Signature is a VIsa tier. World and World Elite are MasterCard tiers. Both companies have details on the benefits associated with the tiers on their respective sites.

Thank you. Still, I thought you needed to have a 5K limit to get on the upper tiers. But I was obviously wrong.

That was what I thought too but until I read some posts here that some have WORLD and SIGNATURE and have under 5k limit. My niece has a signature card from citi but only with 3.5k limit

SevenNEW - the requirement of $5K was pretty standard for the WMC, WEMC and VS. Today you will find Citi has several prime cards with $1K or $2K with the upper tier designation. Cap1 has a GM WEMC that people reported getting with a $600 CL. Chase has been pretty stead fast on the $5K rule. If you go to the Visa Int'l website you will find the Visa Signature card does NOT require the issuer to provide NPSL. Citi has converted some cardholders with Citi Forward Visa's to Signature and NOT added the NPSL. The credit world is ever evolving. It seems there is more money per card swipe in prime plus cards (so I have read). Likely the flood of new elite cards is money driven?
