Super Congrats angie!!!!!

A $2,000 limit on a Mastercard is a very nice way

to get started with NFCU. Now that you have one card,

your Visa app should go thru with no problem.

At the end of last month I was also approved for the nRewards

Visa & Mastercard with a 2k limit on each card.....first the Visa,

then the MC a week later. I told them that it's a good idea to have

a 2nd card as a reserve and they approved me for the MC no

questions asked.

We can request credit limit increases every 6 months and they are

considered soft inquiries...not hard. I know this because I called and

asked NFCU Credit Card Services right after I activated my cards.

So take good care of your cards and NFCU will take really good care of you.

Once again, Congratulations on the new NFCU Mastercard!

CanDo

"The right attitude is everything"

I understand completely what you're saying. I just wanted to make sure I wasn't missing something here. My BF wonders why I keep getting cards and I tell him that I read it here and they will help my socre. He doesn't get it and I have trouble explaining my reasoning to him. He has one card that he uses for everything and PIFs each month. It's a Citibank rewards with a CL of 10k and his scores all 800 across the board. He keeps asking me why I need more cards and suggests to use the ones I have wisely and my scores will increase. It's so easy for me to get the "app bug" when reading others' posts. I have to draw the line somewhere but when I read the posts and see the lists of everyone's cards, I can't help but get the feeling that there is something that I'm missing or perhaps something I'm doing wrong. I guess it all boils down to personal choices.

Again, thanks for the explanation!

I'm entering the pruning phase of my gardening. I'm getting worn out trying to keep up with using them all, juggling rewards, etc. I've gotten a feel for which are keepers and which can go.

I admire your BF, and his scores do prove his point, but I think that three is better than one. A little redundancy in life is nice.

Many of the people here with a zillion cards are in transition from rebuilder cards to keeper cards. Some of the high card count is due to over-enthusiasm, but a lot is due to the upgrade process.

I have five cards on death row (shhh, they don't know), each with its own scheduled execution date. That will get me down to a more manageable number, although still many more than your BF.
