Experian Score 776 but my oldest open account is 2 months... What should I apply for?! Please help.

So as I said in the title I just checked my experian score and it is a 776. I just opened a CapOne 2 months ago and my util% is high because I was hoping to run in up each month with hopes it would make my case for a substantial CLI stronger. My credit has already jumped big time and my main goal is to open some high CL TLs so I can actually use my cards to make purchases each month and PIF all while keeping my Util% down. Anyone know what cards pull experian CRs and also that are more likely to offer higher CLs? Please advise! Thanks

Is there a specific Chase card I should apply for? Any specific card that is known to have higher opening CLs than others?

I was denied AMEX Everyday Cash Rewards. It said I would receive a letter as to why.

Amex likes to see some mileage on your accounts... I would go with Chase Freedom

Try for a Chase Freedom or Discover It card and one of the Citi co-branded cards but that should be the first cos Citi tends to be inquiry sensitive cos more than 4 In a short span would land u a denial like in my case and confirmed by the rep when I tried to recon.

Here is my advice, which is a bit general.

You can probably get pretty much any card you want at this point. I am assuming your TU and EQ are very high too, although you can check this for free or under $15 most likely.

However one thing to think about is that you should apply for the card you want NOW because of a process known as rebucketing. As you accumulate more and more credit history the credit agencies will start comparing you to other folks with older histories which have a thicker file. This is good in the long term but in the short term it can lead to your score dropping. So if you want a super competitive card like a Chase Saphire Preferred or a PenFed Rewards or whatever, better to do it now.

I would guess they denied you because of your short credit history. I personally would not app for anything until you have 6 months of credit history with the Cap1 card. What is your utilization on your CC and do you have anything in your file?

I don't have anything else on my file. A Ranger Rover auto loan from 5 or 6 years ago when I worked in the Finance world but that account has been closed for a long time and I believe I had one other closed account. No negatives or positives for that matter. I haven't used any form of credit in a really long time until I opened the CapOne card 2 months ago. I believe that to be the only thing on my credit report is my CapOne for the last two months. I suppose I will hold off for a while, make sure the Exp score isn't some sort of fluke (it seems high to me considering I don't have any older open TLs). I'll build up some payment history with my CapOne and go from there. Thank you for all your help. I hope I have a wallet with a nice AMEX in it within the year.

Has got too be a mistake or a fako, no way a 2 month credit history is going to produce 776 Ex fico. I dont think chase will aprove you with 2 month cap one card, unless your an AU on someones account.

I don't think that you will get approved with only two months or less of history. It has to be a mistake somehow. Plus Chase has their own internal scoring which is going to supercede your FICO score. I would wait at least til your oldest account is 6 months to a year.

2 months of history?! I was so interested I'm the 776 and didn't notice the 2months part so I take back my initial recommendation. OP u need at least 6 months of history then at that point u should be good for some approval.

Hold on for few months before u apply for new cards .... Or just check pre approval sites and then take a call ... Personally I would say .. Wait for 6 months or so ... You will get good card with good terms and limits
