I went on an app spree today and was approved for a lot of cards most of them ge capital here is my approval list

jc penny

shop hq

tj maxx

brooks brothers

lord and Taylor

belk

dillards

Toysrus

target

capital one

nordstrom

as well as about 7 with a 7-10 day message

That's a lot of store cards...

I hope you've got a purpose/reason for all those, and that's going to leave a dent on your score.

In regards to your question, I only have 1 GE card, my Lowe's card... It's actually my least favorite, but with the 5% discount it's "ok"... I just rarely go to Lowe's.

Not any!!! Even when they pre- approve me on pop-ups, they deny me and give me the 7-10 day message. I guess it's something about my credit history they don't like. Go figure??? I am in the rebuilding phase with one baddie to fall off any time now. Scores are average I guess.

As long as you are happy with the outcome, congratulations. GE/Sunxhrony, like any bank can and will limit the exposure based on the total CL's. The figure gonna around was $100k but I don't know if that figure is still accurate b

To answer your question regarding GE:

PPL MC $25,000

Wal/Discover $12,000

JCP (recently upgraded to MC) $4500

Chevron $2200

They all get very little use and the Chevron will probably be closed by the end of the year.

I have four I started with a $700 Walmart store card 3 1/2 years ago. I find that only getting cards I will use works best for CLIs and my credit reports. Quantity doesn't mean they will turn into quality if you don't use them. Chances are in the long run they will hurt you in my opinion.

You can see all the GE cards I have in my sig. Most of them have been growing well so far and I'm probably going to close the Old Navy one at some point if nothing really happens there so I have around 5 right now.
