AMEX 'member since' question:

I had AMEX cards at two different times on my life. The first time, some 25 or more years ago, I closed the account, and all my cards , on my own in good standing. Bad idea. I then applied again several years later when I needed credit. Another bad idea. I want to app for BCE card. If I am approved, if my member since date reverts to its original date, would I gain the age? Or, would I have to be approved for the Green/Gold cards i had before to get the age back?

You would most likely automatically have that date show up for you online and it would report for that date as well. Your first physical card would show this year though. Any new Amex would enable you to have the MSD that you had in the past.

Just be sure if the MSD is not correct to ask them to correct it. Don't ask them to back date it. That will cause problems.

You can app over the phone. If approved, you can mention that you were a cardmember years ago. However, chances are that their system will pick it up.
