I posses a Capital One QS MC with a $1K CL but I rencelty got approved for the VISA version. To top, I've also have been approved for the Blue from AMEX and both Chase Freedom and SP cards.

Made an attempt to get a CLI on my QS MC but was denied. I've had the card for 4 months now and PIF for 2 of the 4 billing cycles. My CSP has CL of $5K and the others hovering around $3K. I'm curious if creditors such as Capital One will auto CLI accounts to match based on the fact that you posees other cards with higher limits. Any truth to that? Any info would be helpful.

I think their CLI's are based more on your credit profile, usage and payment history. I received a $3K and $2K CLI via luv botton online request and that was my highest CC. I only had a Discover at $2k at the time of my second request. YMMV

Cap1 is pretty strict when it comes to cli every 6 mos. So i would wait 2 more statements then try again. If nothing then contact eo. As for their basis for matching, usually lenders dont care who gave you x limit. However in my case cap1 always gave me a higher limit than my other cards when i requested.

Ok so it's the case where Cap One will match your other card CLs. My CLI request was thru the EO but no dice.

I've had success with EO CLIs in less than six month increments. Not always though. I think it may be at the EO's prerogative on whether or not they want to submit the request.

I've had success with the EO. I converted my QS to Venture in April. I was then approved for a CLI increase to 5700 on my Barclays card. I told the EO that I'd like a match to them last week and they upped me from 2.5 to 5K. So going thru the EO can work outside of the 6 months timelines.

This might be helpful to look at. It's a chart they put at the end of a CLI decline letter referencing 4 main boilerplate reasons.

http://anony.ws/image/DoMS

I got that in my online documents after trying the online CLI request the other day. My reason was #2...balance too low, since I was barely using it at all.

Those 4 standard reasons are all geared around a 6-9 month timeframe.

I'm guessing anyone even trying will need to make sure all 4 of those criteria are met over 6-9 months, otherwise calling EO like others have mentioned is probably the only way.
