First National Bank Omaha Cardholders

FNB Omaha started issuing EMV chip Visa cards June 2014. As a Visa cardholder's card comes up for renewal, it will be replaced automatically with an EMV chipped card. If you desire the EMV chip card sooner you need to contact FNB Omaha utilizing the telephone number on the back of your card and "special" request the EMV chip card. The FNBO Discover, Mastercard and American Express Cards are NOT available for the EMV chip at this time.

Thx for the info the cards I have with them are not eligible at this time, all cards have to be EMV by Oct 2015 or the issuing bank will be eating the losses from the old cards for unauth use if they fail to update them in time

Which is basically exactly how things are today. Some banks may not consider being able to pin counterfeit losses on non-compliant merchants as worth it. Heck, I could even see the possibility of some small shops putting up "no chip card" signs come Oct 2015, mostly out of ignorance.

Which is basically exactly how things are today. Some banks may not consider being able to pin counterfeit losses on non-compliant merchants as worth it. Heck, I could even see the possibility of some small shops putting up "no chip card" signs come Oct 2015, mostly out of ignorance.

That wouldn't last long though. It is against the network TOS to refuse to accept any valid card, and a few angry customers calls to Visa, and that shop would either be forced to accept them, or lose their ability to accept CCs.

Hi, my card came in today and notice there wasn't any chip on the card.

Will the FNBO American Express cards come chip enhanced or come with an EMV chip ?
