Discover cash access

So my Discover Card arrived and must say love the envelope it came in. Quite a fancy presentation. So got myself regiestered and everything and noticed i can get cash back at stores with no ATM fee and such etc.

1. Does that consider it a cash advance and will i be charged a cash advance fee?

2. Am i able to request up to my line for the cash or is it my cash advance limit? Because my line is 4000 but my cash advance limit is 400. So which would it be?

DIscover allows cash back at certain stores. You select a credit card, then select the amount of cash back, similar to a debit card, but it is a credit transaction. The cash back becomes part of the transaction, so no cash advance fees. Specific stores have specific limits. Customer Service will be glad to tell you about it in detail.

Yes it is a cash advance, and you can only pull out the amount for cash advance. I have a $3000 limit with $2000 available for cash advance.

Ok I think OP is talking about "cash over" and that is different from cash advance. No fees. Part of purchase. Limit of $120 per day. Pretty nifty feature. There are a list of stores on their site that offer it. Wal-Mart,Krogers,etc.

I said I wasnt aware it was something different. I read it to quick and just assumed OP was getting cash at an ATM...my fault

Sometimes at work I find myself minimizing the window suddenly...I am getting better at knowing whos footsteps are whose coming up the hall

Thanks for answering and yes im talking about the cash you can get at stores. So just to clarify its not a cash advance fee its just my normal transaction as if it was a debit card, correct?

I had no idea this was feature. I don't recall ever using my card at Wally World but I may do it now just for fun.

To set it up for those who havent the feature is under card options i think, just look for the option cash at checkout

Yep. Sweet no fee atm for quick cash. Discover is very unique in that regards. Has come in handy for me quite a few times.
