BofA Secured for foot in door?

Would it be a good idea to get a BofA Secured Card? I've been wanting a BofA credit card but doubt I'd get approved flat out. Do they offer the secured card if denied or can you cold app for it? Just thinking even if I have to take the secured card it would get my foot in the door with BofA and eventually graduate....thoughts?

You can cold app for the Secured version.

I got declined for the MLB cash rewards and got accepted after Recon ... Can always ask if the Secured option can be done during Recon

Any idea where the app is for the secured version? I have a BK so dont think I'll get a revolver with BofA

I got countered the secured when denied unsecured. Best credit decision I have ever made! LOVE BofA.

Still wouldn't hurt to app for the Reg and then Recon for the Reg and then see if they counter with Secured

I'd be interested to hear how the recon goes. I was told by a BoA rep to apply 1 year post discharge. I highly doubt that's correct by items like this I've found on the board.
