BoA Better Balance Rewards ?

Anyone have this card ? I received an offer in the mail today with a secure code to "request" my card. What I don't understand is that I don't see "pre-approved" or "pre-selected" anywhere in the offer, I've read it front to back. Anyone received an offer like this and replied ? Is it SP or HP ? Any experience with this card ?

I have a Better Balance card. It was PC'd from an older BoA secured card I had years ago. I got a similar offer in the mail for a Cash Rewards card. I thought the same thing, is 'requesting' my card the same as 'applying' for one. I read and re-read and finally found in the fine print on the last page that they'd need to pull credit report, so it'll be an HP. I can't imagine BoA *or any big bank) would give out cards with a SP. They don't even do SP CLIs.

I recently PC'd a card to Better Balance Rewards.

I think it's a good card to have for the $120/year rewards. I plan on charging my cell phone bill to it each month ($30), and paying it in full.

Application would definitely be a HP.

I haven't received a similar offer in the mail. It seems very strange. Is there information about "unsubscribing" from similar offers?

OP, yes I would definitely be prepared for a hard pull if you take the offer. In terms of balance transfer cards, I think it's one of the better cards out there.

My mother had recieved a letter just like that, but it was for the 1,2,3 rewards.

. No mention of Pre-Qualified, Pre-Approved etc.

Also no language to the effect of "Subject to credit approval" in the letter.

She applied with the request number they give and got a message ( I can not recall the exact language but basuically under review) .

She got the approval the very next day.

From what I recall, there was no HP until after the approval. Or was a few days after for whatever reason. But there was a HP.

I would say with that particular letter, unless something major negative occured since the SP'd you, you should get it.

I have four BofA BBR cards. I can't comment on the mail offer; I got all of mine through PC's.

I can say I really like this program. I just make one purchase on each card a month (usually around $1.50), have the cards set up to automatically pay the balance in full each month. In return, I get an automatic $30 each quarter for each card. That's more than I earned on any of those cards in purchase rewards, so definitely worth the call to customer service to make the conversion.

I received that same letter back in May. I had checked my CR's and found that they had SP'd my EX report. I called into speak with a rep to find out more details and he said that as long as my CR hadn't changed from the time of the SP I would receive the card as they've pretty much already approved me, BUT once I agree there will be a HP done to confirm all info is still the same. So in short...when you get that letter as long as nothing has changed since they SP'd you then you've pretty much got the card, but upon accepting it they will do a HP so I'm assuming if all your's are frozen then that would cause for a denial:/

I have 1 BB card. I PCd from my power rewards card. They said if i go from Visa to MC network then it will be a HP, so i kept it as Visa, no hard pull.

I'm actually converting my BoA Cash Rewards into a Better Balance Rewards, as my grocery and gas categories have been sufficiently fulfilled by Sallie Mae and Amex Blue Cash Everyday.

Do you have to let the balance report before paying off, or can you charge and PIF before the statement cuts? To get the reward.

You have to report a balance every month to get quarterly reward

I also started the PC process about a week ago. They aproved it and said it would take 2-4 weeks for the change. I am chaning from a platinum plus card with an annual fee. I am going to wait for the PC to take effect and ask them to remove the AF since that card doesnt carry an AF...hope it works

Please confirm. I have my cash rewards secured and when it graduates if they don't remove the AF I want to PC to BBR and get rid of the AF.
