Costco TrueEarnings card now with EMV Chip!

I just received my new card today, it has the new EMV Chip, it looks cool!

On a separate note was there a reason why AMEX removed the Costco TrueEarnings card from their website?

I almost want to request a new card just to get one with an EMV chip. Too bad this card has a 2.7% FTF, which doesn't make it a desirable card to travel with (aside from actually booking the reservations, which gives you 2% back).

I notice that the card doesn't show up for me either when I'm searching for it on my home computer (the one I use to log into my account with). It must recognize that we already have the card and thus they eliminate it from the list of available cards??

The EMV chip has been available on the Costco TE since March. I got mine in the first week of March but I had to call and request it. Good to know that they're now sending it out without special request.

Last month, they sent out a Costco replacement card for me without the chip Amex has been very inconsistent with sending out chipped cards. When I requested the chip for the Platinum on my and my au's cards, they sent mine chipped but they the au's were not. Just haven't felt like calling all the time to point out their mistakes.

Hmmm I wonder if Costco has/is going to upgrade their terminals then to support EMV (activate it?).
