Freedom change

Looks like i am losing my freedom MC, they are changing it to an freedom visa. I will be getting emv with chip and sign now. That seems like will be my only feature that is getting other than it changing from MC to visa. Guess my QS WMC is my only Mastercard i have left.

Not totally sure, but think they changed all Freedom to VISA. I just got mine last week, and it was a VISA. Did they tell you that it would be EMV? Just asking because mine is VISA Signature, but no EMV.

it said it would come with an smart chip I am wondering if that mean EMV. I assume that is what it means. Mine is just plain old freedom not visa sig like my CSP is. I wanted an freedom MC because i don't have many MC cards, most of them are visas. I guess this means i should look into get an barclays card since they are only ones that still do MC cards?

curious, did you find that out by asking them or did you get a letter or message from them?

I also have a Freedom MC, and last month my new card number showed up on my account, haven't gotten a letter, message, or the actual new card yet from chase. I haven't asked them about it yet either.

I thought i read somewhere that right now only some of the recently issued non-sig freedoms have EMV.

I was kind of happy that my Chase Disney is a Visa. My QS and Barclay cards are both MC so now I have both.

only card left i have thats an MC is my quicksilver WMC. I have had that card for ages so hopefully it will stay an MC. Maybe the credit gods are telling me to apply for SM or barclays arrival + lol.

Hey, I used my Chase Disney card today for the first time! It was exciting, I paid my phone bill and my eletric bill. Now I should get my Disney Gift Card!

Chase is piloting EMV on Freedom and Ink Bold/Plus at this point. From what I've heard it is limited to small group of people whose card is up for replacement.

Ah ok I really don't care one way or the other but might as well asked I have plenty of cards with it and nowhere to use them yet CVS near me put a EMV chip reader in one of their stores but haven't updated it to read them so it is a good sign though

nice i put some usage on my freedom today , i transferred money from freedom to my amex serve to pay auto loan lol.

never hurts to try !!! i will tell you how it goes when my visa comes in the mail. I did use freedom at bed and bath and to fill up some gas today so it still working.

Do let us know the latest from Chase. Even thought I wouldn't use the Freedom chip overseas (cause of the FTF), I like to always ask for it on all my cards to let them know that the consumers want these chips on our cards already!

Oh I agree at the very least they know I am interested in EMV chips

I have 0% interest using that card overseas since I have Discover , CSP and Marriott which all have no FTF's

I got them to change it for me at least
