I know the question has been asked a million times, but here is my situation.

I currenlty have ZERO collections on my account, one 30 day late that is hopefully coming off soon, and 20% UTL of about 4,000 dollars in combined credit limit.

I have a high amount of INQ's, and looking at my CR's from FACR.com, it appears most will fall off 6 months from now.

I would [think] that in 6 months, the 30 day late will be gone, I will have less than 12 INQ's (maybe even less, not sure), and a UTL of under 15%.

With that being said...I would think I would have a score of over 650, maybe higher.

I am looking at app'ing for a half way decent CC. I curently have a discover card, but it's secured and should graduate 9 months from now.

I am looking at something like:

1. A Co-branded/non store only card.

2. Something with a no or low annual fee.

3. Rewards (As I plan on PIF each month).

Now that being said, I am sure there are TONS of cards that fit this selection, but out of all them, which are generally easier (I said easier, not easy), to get?

Capital One.
I would try prequalification first.
If denied then you can call EO for reconsideration.

I applied for cap1 a few weeks ago before the 30 day late popped up, their recon process sucks, basically all the told me (after checking with 3 people and a supervisor) that they will "reprocess the application" and give me an answer within 15 days.

That sounds more like a reapply than a recon.

I don't really care for cap1 anyway.

But I'm talking about decent bank cards, such as Chase, Citi, BOA, Wells Fargo, BMO, HSBC, etc.

Cap 1 should be a fairly "easy" card to get approved. Not sure what their denial reason was but if they're a no go, odds are prime lenders such as Chase, BOA, etc would be even tougher to get approved

CapOne but it seems like you still have plenty of work to do in keeping your credit in order. I'd just focus on that first quite frankly before going over your head trying to get cards you know that you can't qualify for right now.

With a 650 CS and clean-ish report you should be able to snag a Barclay Rewards or Barclay Apple card no problem. I had a dozen or so INQ's and a 2 year old BK when I got my Barclay Rewards, and a couple months later the Apple card. I've since had PC's to Arrival and Rewards Visa, as well as adding a Sallie Mae card. Barclay is a great CCC, and seem to care more about your history with them than your actual credit report. YMMV.

Go for the Capital one Journey card, i recomend it all of the time for low credit persons. Mind you if you have applied within the last 30 days at Capital One, you will get auto declined no matter what!

Check at Credit One! Also! Everyone always rags on Credit One, but i've got a $35 dollar annual fee with them, at 17%, which is better than a lot of people with what they've got right now!

Try Credit one, check your annual fee and APR before you activate the card! Also, they have a preapproval process you'll have to go through first to even apply!

If you pass that, you'll get a card!!

Good Luck

Update....

My Discover card statement cut 8/21, and my TU fico is 626. 30 day late is STILL reporting, so once it is (and hopefully) removed, my CS will be at least 660-675.

My current debt to credit limit is 20%, but I'm paying off stuff, so it should be under 12 percent in a few weeks.

TU INQ's are 10. EQ and EX is over 40 (from my idiotic app spree days).

So once the 30 day late falls off, I DO have a chance, I think, but only for cards that primarily pull TU.

Unless...are there ANY CCC's that pull EQ/EX and don't mind INQ's?

I've heard before some CCC's don't deny only on INQ's so would like some info on that too.
