B of A Recon Help

So I applied for the B of A "Better Balance Rewards" card and was denied. I called one of the backdoor numbers, was put on hold for a while, then the guy came back and said "I just talked to one of the people in that department, and they said they don't reconsider over the phone-- you'd have to write to the address on the letter with any supporting documentation you have" WTH? Seriously?

Is there a better number? The one I called was: BofA: 866-618-4585 (Sr Credit Analyst)

Hmm I reconed over the phone perfectly fine. I called the number for Credit analyst for existing cardholders and then Asked can i talk to credit acquisition dept and they done it for me

I thought so to lol but I reconed them and got a $2,500 limit expecting if approved recon a $500 limit

Call 866-811-4108

Specifically tell them you believe you were denied for a credit card and are asking for an analyst to reconsider the application.

Well, I tried...

They said EX is showing some collection acct from 2013 that Im not even aware is on there.... Time to do some damage control.

What kind of scores do you have? There are better options for CCs out there from CUs. Just my .02

I would avoid FIA or BOA like the plaque. I do not use mine at all hardly anymore.

My scores are around 650-660.

To be honest, I've never liked BofA ... so no sadness here. lol

BoA is my favorite bank hands down.

With a 2013 negative reporting most banks will be difficult.
