What was your first card?

Curious so i just thought i would ask:

1. What was your first card? Elan Financial Services (Bank CC)

2. What was the initial limit? $500

3. What year did you open it, and what age were you? (if you dont mind answering this one) I opened it 2010 and i was 18

4. Do you still have it open? or did you close it? Currently its still open but it doesnt get used a lot mainly due to the rewards arent very good. I do appreciate CLI are SP

On a side note, to add a AU do they need to be 18?

My first card : Discover it

inital limit: $750

Date opened: June 2013 and I was 22

Is it open: Yes it is ....For now

You can be 15 I believe for certain cards

Bank of America Platinum from 2006. i was 18/19. Initial limit 1000. It went delinquent. They closed it and I paid it all off. No collections or anything so I didn't burn them. They just fell off my reports recently (yikes!).

Regarding AU, I dont think they need to be 18.

1. Newport News (I may be dating myself a bit....)

2. I think it was $300.

3. 2000, I was 18 (Damn, there it is)

4. Def not open anymore

I added my daughter as an AU this year to my BoA card, she's 14. Will do amex after her 15th bday. (yeah, for those of you who can do math, I started young).

Some National City card, became PNC points over time.

I was 20, it was in 2005, and it is still open, but I never use it.

Initial CL was $500, it is now $4,000.

2. $1500

3. 2007, I was 18 and got approved because I was a student, got a free checking account at the same time for being a student.

4. Still open, they upgraded it to a Platnium card and $6500 limit now, I've never asked for a cli on it, just happened naturally.

I think it was from Providian bank and it was one of those Platinum Visa cards that was all the rage back then. lol Also if my memory serves me correctly I think it was in 1998.

Providian back in the day with their 1k limit... I actually ended up opening and closing many Providian and Chase Freedoms, lol.

1. What was your first card? Sony as an AU, Marriott for my own card

2. What was the initial limit? dont know for either one. assuming chase doesn't automatically provide a CLI, i've been at 12000 for the Marriott all along

3. What year did you open it, and what age were you? (if you dont mind answering this one) added as an au on the Sony at the ripe old age of 15, got my own Marriott at 24

4. Do you still have it open? or did you close it? finally removed myself from the Sony this year, Marriott has since been upgraded to the premier card

On a side note, to add a AU do they need to be 18? nope, my dad added me before 18

If I did then we would have to start another thread altogether. I will say, though, that one thing I have learned is that I will never carry balances exceeding 10% of my total CL across all cards or at any interest rate other than 0. I no longer look at my CCs as spending ability, but as cash management and rewards accumulation opportunities. Took me a long time to change my viewpoint on CCs.

I already have that at a young age thankfully and going to miss the 0% APR's

1. USBank personal banker approved me for 2 cards

2. $2500 each

3. 1999, 19

4. No, of course I effed it up.
