What is your go to card?? (List order)

Well I think I'm done with apping. Just wanted to know what others at my fico think us the absolute best card. Some one had thread on how many cards. 1 guy had 39. Wow!!!

If you guys don't mind. Listing go to card.

Right now mine is quick silver one.

Hoping to raise to discover or amex.

Honest. I can't justify af for amex because don't travel a lot.

Arrival+, CSP, Cap1 QS, BofA travel rewards, Discover for the 5% categories when accepted and every once in a while Marriott....this sequence is because of the no FTF on these cards. Spending in the US would be quite different

Cash + (For fast food, restaurants)
Ink Plus (for cell phone, telephone line at home, dishnetwork that is bundled with telephone line.)
Arrival + (for general spend that isn't covered by a higher than 2.2% yield.)
Sallie Mae (Groceries, Gas, and Amazon.)
Have been using the Freedom some this category for 5% spending there at gas stations.

I think that's about it.

2) US Bank Cash Plus (Vet)

3) Citi Forward 5x (Restaurants, books, amazon)

4) Freedom for gas when available (Sallie Mae/Blue Cash otherwise)

5) Prepaid debit almost everything else

Citi TYP.

It's the only card with a 0% interest rate so I use it exclusively while paying down my other two cards. I also get cashback to use on Amazon. Win-win.

You get Amazon cash back at a really bad rate, making this less than a 1% card except on bonus categories. So not win-win from that view point!

While that is true if your informed about other choices it is better then 0%

For my situation, it's a win-win but I acknowledge it's not the "best" win-win.

I have 3 cards that are carrying balances. 2 of them need to be paid down. So I'm "relegated" to my TYP because I'm trying to keep my debt on 3 cards(with small purchases on the others to keep activity on them). Since I'm relegated to the TYP anyway, it does help that I get a little something back to use on Amazon. I shop there the most. Then add in that it's currently my only 0% APR card which allows me to carry a balance.

AMEX Platinum NPSL

Citi Prestige World Elite MasterCard

That's all. The other 18 are stored and only used every six months to keep them active.

The other credit I have at my disposal are five personal lines of credit. Again, I use them once every 6 months to keep them active and for one of them, if I use it once a year, the $25 annual fee (Citi I think) is waived.

Upwards of $300,000+ total in credit.

Well, you can do better, still using the TYP, by getting the student loan/mortgage redemption (which is 1:1), deposit the check and pay for your Amazon purchases from that. A little more work, so depending on the amount involved may not be worthwhile.

But people should be aware that various choices are suboptimal!

Yes, it's also better than using the card to get a cash advance and paying Amazon using that. Or getting a payday loan.

I had no idea when first jumping into this journey last year that lining up certain rewards cards that are of the best use for your spend takes time, but it does. So far these are my collection to date. BofA is my most go to ATM with the intention of bringing on a duplicate at some point. I just like it plus i am a strictly Cash Back proponant

BofA Cash Rewards 3% Gas 2% Grocery 1% all else

Huntington Voice 3% Selective Choice of numerous categories every quarter (Utilities)

Chase Freedom 5% Rotating (Gas this month)

Here's a really funny one for you.

As detestable as this CC is to me i always find it my Go To card when traveling for lunch, snack and cigs.

Capital One GM BuyPower 5% all spend up to 5k per annum toward a GM vehicle purchase ot lease. It's a real beauty with a $600 Limit they refuse to up it at all
