How can i tell which card it is

I am currently waiting on my CapOne QuickSilver card...and have heard about the Credit steps program. How can i tell if that is what I have or not other than the fact that I only got a CL of $300.00 I'm in the rebuilding process

was it a pre-qualified letter? Cold app? I know when I apped I have a letter and it said it was on it

With that type of starting limit I think it is safe to say you are probably in the credit steps program. When you get your card it will clarify in the letter that comes along with it.

Also Cold apping I think the min CL is $3,000 if I remember

With that type of starting limit I think it is safe to say you are probably in the credit steps program. When you get your card it will clarify in the letter that comes along with it.

I just got the card today and I am shocked that it is a Mastercard. Is that an indication?

No that is just the processor that they are using. You have the QS1 and that 300 limit might be indications .. Did it say anything when you got your card?

Did you get a pre-approval letter from them? I did and I got it saying it would be part of said program ... IF I can find the letter and if it shows nothing identify I will post it or PM you it

I had gotten a pre-approval letter back in April, I believe it was. They sent me the Quicksilver (not Quicksilver One) with a $300 limit. I got a letter message from them in July that if I made six payments one time, they would auto-increase my credit limit. Not sure how much though.

I got this a year ago. I made 6 payments on time the first 6 month and they auto CLI me to $1000. That was 6 months ago so this past weekend I hit the LUV button and it went to $4000.

Someone correct me if I am wrong.. I think Cap1 has stricter UW guidelines for the Visa versions of their cards. It being a MC is a fairly good sign in my eyes. Hence the reason the Quicksilver Visa says, "excellent credit" on their site.

They are two different cards. Hopefully this link will "stick" but its a compare page on the Cap One site with QS and QS1 selected.

Capital One - QS vs QS1

For the Credit Steps Portion:

Check in your online account "Statments and Documents" - go to the Documents tab.

There will be a document named "Capital One Credit Steps Program" that explains the program.

Thank you for link.....i see the differences between the 2 cards and when i looked at what they consider Average and Excellent Credit it makes since that I have the MasterCard...I will be looking forward to when i have Excellent credit!
